I have 3 years and 8 games now of proof that there is NO WAY POSSIBLE Frease could jump high enough to get over that railing and into the stands.

That was equally good. But he was probably dizzy as hell haha. It had to be similar to a bomb exploding next to you and you become disoriented, because he got hit HARD.

CinciX12;1010953 wrote:Talking during this game has happened for about the last 10 years. Actually for 39 minutes and 50 seconds it was one of the most tame shootouts I had ever seen. Then Tu goes up and says something to the UC bench who is getting their asses kicked (I'll actually talk about the game in a second) and they didn't handle that very well obviously. Dez Wells comes up and tries to defend Holloway. Wells is an 18 year old who got caught up in the moment and escalated the damn thing to a riot. Yancy Gates is on video throwing and actually hitting 2 separate players. Then whoever 13 is from UC, attempted (don't know if he was successful) at kicking poor ogre Kenny Frease in the face. Bottom line both teams were full of a bunch of morons.

At this point they call the game with whatever time is on the clock, and while it looks bad for both sides, I think you could have made an argument that X's kids looked bad but UC's looked like insane people (thank you Yancy). Then the press conference comes, and Holloway says some of the dumbest **** I have ever heard. He turned the conversation from the fight to the fact that he takes things WAY too seriously apparently. Mack should have never made the 2 of them available. Cronin handled the press conference beautifully and scored a ton of points. Now its a different discussion if he actually goes through on anything he said (I don't think he will).

As for the game, X finally played 40 minutes of basketball and looked clearly superior to a team finally. Complete game by everybody. Holloway and Lyons did their usual thing and we finally got production from Frease. Wells was awesome as he has been every game.

UC is terrible though. Legit awful. Can't shoot, can't defend, can't rebound. Just bad. That was a ranked team to start the season? Man.

Summary: Tu Holloway is an idiot who takes sporting events too seriously. Yancy Gates is common street trash from Withrow who will end up in prison someday.

I actually agree with about 99% of what you said. This is not an isolated incident, it has been something that has been perculating over a number of years. There have been a number of things said and done by both sides over the past 3-4 years that started all of this. Yesterday's events was just a tip of the iceburg.
Todd Jones summed it up pretty well in the Columbus Dispatch today. He said imagine Ohio State and Michigan if they were located in the same city. This are two schools separated by less than 4 miles. One is a small, religious based private institution and the other one is a large public school.

I agree with you this UC team is not very good (in terms of playing basketball). I said as much at the beginning of this thread prior to the game. UC returned their top four scorers but they did not return any of their leadership or best defensive players from last season. This team wil be lucky to reach the NIT.

He def didn't go into the stands. Looked like he may have wanted to, but someone was smart enough to grab him.

The girls screaming when the fight starts was pretty typical!!

The other version of the Kenny Frease assault rumor is that a woman tried to take a picture of him with her phone, and he slapped the phone out of her hand.
Pics or it didn't happen! Oh wait.....

Well...looking at that video, I don't see anything that could constitute assault.

That's obviously the Xavier student section, but right next to the student section is where the visiting team's tickets are located (directly behind their bench). Kenny definitely didn't go into the stands, and it didn't look like he touched anyone. But he definitely was standing in front of the UC section of free tickets...usually composed of family and friends of the visiting team's players and coaches...and I'm pretty sure he was flicking people off, and probably yelling "Kenny say 'Fuck you!' Kenny no happy right now! Kenny SMASH!!!"

That is almost as embarrassing to the UC as the incident itself.

When does Xavier (the team that started the whole thing) announce their suspensions?

The part that baffles me is that the BE signed off on the 6, as mentioned above.

From ESPN:
Xavier will suspend Landen Amos and Dez Wells four games each, Mark Lyons two games, and Tu Holloway one game, a source told ESPN.com Sunday.
