[h=3]Clippers Withholding Gordon, Jordan From Paul Trade Offer[/h]Dec 07, 2011 12:26 AM EST
The Clippers are withholding Eric Gordon and DeAndre Jordan from their trade offer to the Hornets for Chris Paul.
The franchise is reluctant to part with too many assets in exchange for Paul without an assurance on a contract extension. Elton Brand signed with the Sixers in 2008 after recruiting Baron Davis to the club.
But the Clippers are including future draft picks for Paul, according to a source. The team is also willing to absorb other players such as Trevor Ariza.

Don't blame them, but if they want to make a legit run at him, they'll have to give up Eric Gordan and Jordan for him IMO.

I think they might if they get him to agree to sign. If he wont sign though, no way do I give up Eric Gordon for 1 year of Paul.

The Hornets have narrowed down their list of possible trade partners for Chris Paul to the Clippers, Warriors and Celtics, according to sources.
The Lakers, Mavericks and Rockets are also pushing for a trade, but are on the second tier.
According to sources, Golden State is offering Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Ekpe Udoh. The team would also amnesty Andris Biedrins in order to create cap space to reunite Paul with Tyson Chandler.
No way I do that if I am Golden State. You have nothing remaining to pair with Paul and then you know he isn't resigning. Keep Curry and then look at other potential deals. That's too much to give up for a guy who will be there 1 season

They would have Ellis and Lee to pair with him. That would be 3 pretty good players.

Personally I would trade Ellis before I traded Curry.

Lee is just solid.

You aren't going anywhere with those 3 as your best players.

Lee is solid 4, defense leads a lot to be desired but paired with Chandler I don't think they would be horrible. Ellis or Curry at the 2 spot though is a lot of size to give up. Not sure they compete with that regardless of how good CP3 is.

[h=3]Heat Express Interest In Shannon Brown, Kwame Brown[/h]Dec 07, 2011 9:59 AM EST
Mark Bartelstein, who represents free agents Kwame Brown and Shannon Brown, said Tuesday night he has had in-depth discussions with Miami about both.

The Heat desperately need a center, and Kwame Brown could fit the bill, having averaged 7.9 points and 6.8 rebounds for Charlotte last season.

"We've talked to Miami quite a bit," Bartelstein said. "We're going through the process and hope to make a decision in the next few days… Miami's a great team and a championship contender and he's got the potential (to help)."

Bartelstein said he's also talked to Heat president Pat Riley about Shannon Brown, a shooting guard who averaged 8.7 points last season for the Lakers.

"We've talked about him with Pat," Bartelstein said of Shannon Brown, who was LeBron James' teammate in Cleveland from 2006 to 2008. "They're looking for wings. Teaming with LeBron and Dwyane (Wade) would be incredible. (Shannon Brown) is very athletic. They (the Heat) like him."

You HAVE to make this deal if you are Miami. Kwame is better than Anthony, who is an MVP. A chance to team up a sure fire HOFer like Kwame with LBJ/Wade/Bosh is a no-brainer.

When you're as great as the true MVP, you can pick and choose when you want to play. So the Heat's looking for a guy who can contribute a bit when The Joel Anthony decides it's not worth his time to play in a game because the opponent doesn't meet up to his standards.

Signing Chandler, sources said, could free up the Knicks to offer star forward Amare Stoudemire to the New Orleans Hornets in a trade scenario for Chris Paul, who badly wants to reunite with Chandler after their time together with the Hornets. Sources say that's one option New York is considering.

lol, wonder what Amare is thinking

Lakers, Rockets, Hornets in talks supposedly...

Deal would send CP3 to LA, Gasol to Houston and no idea about who NOLA would get..

I always find the NBA FA/off season more entertaining than the actual regular season.

I wish they would do what the MLB does with their winter meetings, except have their summer meetings obviously.

According to Marc J. Spears, the Rockets would send Luis Scola and Kevin Martin along with possible picks to the Hornets.[LEFT]

I'd rather have Howard, but accoring to Ryen Russilo's NBA Today Podcast the magic are being a pain in the ass to deal with.
