Gilbert wasn't the only owner who had an issue, just the most vocal.

Eh I'd say go to 16-20 teams. But the league should really get rid of a lot of teams.

So when is Dan Gilbert gonna stand up and say the Howard to Nets trade isn't fair?

FWIW, I'm not a HUGE fan of the trade for the Lakers. But it definitely is not a "bad basketball" move like the League is saying. If they want to say it's a bad money move for the team, that is fine. But it is a GREAT basketball move for the Hornets. Instead now the Hornets will lose their only player worth anything in the offseason and get NOTHING in return for him.

I think it more has to do with the league owning the Hornets and not allowing these 3 teams to unload bad contracts and overrated players to improve their situation, at the expense of the rest of the league. I don't think Gilbert will be publicly against the Howard trade.

Usually when contracts are dumped in basketball, the team getting the best player also has to take the bad contracts. The Lakers would get the best player and get rid of two bad contracts in the process. Why would Gilbert or Cuban or any other owner want to bail the Lakers out of bad contracts? If Gilbert is forced to be part owner of another team, why wouldn't he want to minimize their payroll?

So without Paul, the Hornets have no attractive talent worth having someone buy them. With Paul, they have attractive talent that's leaving in five months. I don't see the difference.

I wonder how Odom feels right now. Stephen A. Smith was reporting this morning that Odom was absolutely devastated and crying on the phone that he had to leave LA.

If they don't have Paul either way, do you an owner would be more likely to buy with two role players collecting $40 mil. or without two horrible contracts?

NOLA was getting 3 players and a first round pick. Scola, Martin, and LO. Pau was going to Houston.

Edit..

And I still got it wrong LOL. Forgot about Dragic.

And now David Aldridge is reporting that the Magic are possibly going to file tampering charges against 2 teams for illegal contact with Howard. Smh.

The NBA is a disaster. They really shouldn't have ended this lockout until the owners were able to get on the same page. Once they did that then they could have worked out a deal with the players.

paugasol Pau Gasol

New day my friends. On my way to El Segundo for the first day of training camp #staypositive #NBAisBack

I hope he can somehow use all this to become better, if the trade doesn't happen.

Hold up....

Now if this deal happens, LA is going to get David West as well? OK.

I don't usually like Broussard, but he is absolutely correct right now.

If you don't allow this trade to happen, the only place CP3 can go is a small market team. You cannot say it's a bad deal for him to go to LA, but it be ok for him to go to Boston or NY or somewhere big.

Also, Grant Hill will return to the Suns.

Dwight Howard met with NJ owner Mikhail Prokhorov & GM Billy King Thurs night in Miami, sources say. Orlando was unaware if meeting

Meeting was violation of NBA tampering rules.

Should this deal be vetoed as well? At least the 3 team deal didn't break League rules.

If Stern wants to get any credibility back, he blocks the Howard deal to NJ.

He was worried that by leaving LA, he'd get Humphrie'd out of the Kardashian family.
