Boeheim did say what he said, no question. But does that warrant being fired? I don't think so. I can't believe that Boeheim knew what was going on with Fine. I don't compare what is going on at 'Cuse with what happened at PSU. Different circumstances. I have been around long enough, seen enough in my life to know that not everyone knows what goes on with those around them, even their closest friends and often times, even within their own families. People rarely know what goes on behind closed doors.Skyhook79;1015991 wrote:http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/7347994/syracuse-orange-two-men-sue-jim-boeheim-school-defamation-bernie-fine-case
Not sure why Boeheim still has a job. They are #1 in the polls now, maybe thats why. Defamation is very hard to prove but Boeheim did call them liars (several times) who were looking for money on National TV.
What Boeheim said, was certainly not good. At the time he said it, he was sticking up for a friend who he "thought" he knew. I believe he found out as the weeks went on, that he didnt' really know his friend. It happens to the best of us. I'd be shocked if he knew more. If he did, I would find it hard to believe Fine would have still been on his staff.
Just my two cents.
