I agree with this. Especially with this coming out about the former police chief in 2002 (and former PLAYER) knew of sexual assault allegations against an assistant coach. If anyone else within Syracuse's walls knew about this, it doesn't bode well for Boeheim because like it was said, if he didn't know, he should've.

Boeheim deserves to be gone more than Paterno did. Boeheim is looking like a big idiot right now that his comments are coming back to bite him

Sportscenter just said Boeheim just got a vote of confidence from the university. Doesn't mean things can't change, but doesn't look like he's going anywhere.

More than Paterno? Why? Sure, he made a foot-in-mouth statement but IF he was not aware of what was going on.....no way does he deserve to be gone more than Paterno did.

JoPa knew that is 100% clear and the man continued to look Sandusky in the eye for many years after. Boeheim it is not clear yet if he knew. If found he did (and I think he did as it was alleged back in 02) then yes must go!

You left out McQueary, the guy who said he eye witnessed Sandusky's rape, played in golf tournaments and stayed in contact with him and 2 of Sandusky's accusers also had contact with Sandusky and his wife just this past summer bringing their wives and CHILDREN to see the Sandusky's.

Boeheim sat next to Bernie Fine up until just a few weeks ago and were together for 35 years (Sandusky retired in 1999 and who knows how much contact Paterno had after that) and Boeheim knew about the allegations in 2002 and the investigation in 2005.

Sandusky was indicted by a grand jury. Fine hasn't even been charged.

If he does get charged, Boeheim is probably gone in my opinion.

The whole story is confusing as hell. Too worried to tell Fine to stop molesting him until he turned 27, not too worried to **** Fine's wife and then tell him about it when he's 18?
At least I'm not the only that has been waiting for the media (or Davis) to address this.

I want to think of this case the same way I thought of the Penn State scandal, but something seems really amiss in the whole thing and specifically with Davis. Considering the dude was involved in what appears to be America's most hideous-Jewish love triangle, I can understand the mental issues.

Also, if I have to hear one more Penn State fan cry a river over the fact that this situation is getting 'zero attention' next to theirs, I'm going to burn down the state of Pennsylvania. No one ever talks about the silver medalist, deal with it.

Yeah that's true,Syracuse University declared Sunday that the agreement of assistant men's basketball coach Bernie Fine has been ended in the midst of a kid molestation scandal. Fine, 65, has served under head instructor Jim Boeheim for 36 years, a record among NCAA Division I assistants in terms of tenure. While Boeheim has denied knowledge of wrongdoing, the Network for Those Abused by Priests (SNAP) has called for the university to take further disciplinary actions against him. Read more here: http://www.newsytype.com/13688-syracuse-bernie-fine-molestation/. Where looking forward to resolve this accusation soon.

LOL 2 things:

1-You're obsessed with defending Paterno

2-What does McQuery have to do with this Fine situation? The comparison was Paterno to Boeheim, and you bring up McQuery w/ the purpose of defending Paterno..pathetic

Because I was responding to the poster who said Paterno supposedly knew 100% ( which hasn't been proven) and continued to look Sandusky in the eye (whatever that means) yet MCQueary who witnessed the act was able to be around Sandusky. You would think if you witnessed an act like that you would stay way clear of the man, which McQuaery did not on several occasions.
Not obsessed with defending Paterno, this is a discussion board where people discuss topics and I happen to have a different take on the situation where you just want to start suicide threads and believe the soundbites and blurbs you happen to hear the talking heads sprew out on espn .

I didn't leave out McQuery this was about the head coaches. I have expressed my concerns on all the Penn St threads about his pussy ass does that help ya? JoPa knew what happened, knew of the 98 allegations and then after so how can you say we don't know that 100%? I also said I think Boheim knew in my post so what are you asking? I too think he will be and should be gone but this isn't as far along as PSU yet but it will soon get there now the investigation is reopen.

Where did you get the info about Joe Pa knowing about the allegations in 1998?

You seriously don't believe when Sandusky retired in 99 that it was to ride off into the sunset and spend time with the fam? No he was accused in 98 and he retired and the police were investigating just didn't charge, ya JoPa and PSU wasn't aware? Sorry bro!

So your just "assuming" he knew? Sandusky coached 30+ years he was able to take advantage of a huge pension benefit if he retired that year and that year only (are you telling me you wouldn't take that kind of retirement deal at age 55??) If JoePa knew and PSU knew why did PSU BOT give Sandusky emeritus status in 1999?

Can you stretch any further. Tell my why JoPa, the AD, the Pres, and the Schultz guy (can't remember his title) are gone? Because of public opinion? Please!

As for the burning question -- his job security -- Boeheim was dismissive. Earlier on Tuesday, university chancellor Nancy Cantor offered her support. Following an unrelated meeting in Albany, Cantor said, "He is our coach."
sound familiar?

The AD is on paid leave, Shultz resigned and yes JoePa and the Pres were fired because of public perception/opinion.

http://www.fitsnews.com/2011/11/10/joe-paterno-fired/

"The board of trustees at Penn State University fired legendary football coach Joe Paterno and university president Graham Spanier on Wednesday in response to public outcry over a child sex abuse scandal involving a former member of Paterno’s coaching staff."
