Time to get ready for game 1 at Northwest. It's not too early for Red Rider Football.

We are definately graduating a great senior class....but had youngsters step in this season and play big roles in the team's success.

It always seems we have irreplaceable guys each year. I remember when we graduated the 2009 class, Hoobler, Miller, Bescancon, Monheims, Raber, Corbett. Everyone thought big rebuilding year coming. We had a few sophomores in Mason Monheim, Matt Davis, Drew Brenner, who as Juniors played huge roles. We had a Senior class that next year with Pirman, Groves, Rice, Reusser, who did a good job of leading. All we did was go the State Semis?
Similar thing this year. Some great sophomores in Zook and Summers. Solid group of juniors back. Solid group of guys up front with a lot of experience from this year. Pretty promising frosh class. It's all up to them to get to work and get thick and quick this off season. It's not like they have't been shown how to make things a reality. RTR. It doesn't happen by accident.

It's up to them....not us. Formula is in place. if anything, last night and last year's Triway game proved that there is not much if any difference in the athletes around the area from school to school. So how do you explain 596 wins and 22 years of playoff football? Why doesn't everyone have that?

It is very clear that this is a football town....and the young boys grow up dreaming of playing at Red Rider Stadium in the Orrville uniform. RTR is taught at an early age and that has made our program what it is today.

We have a lot of great pieces in place to have continued success, and great young players ready to make the best of their opportunities.

Von shrock is centrals bball coach so I wouldn't. E surprised if we lost him...but with guys in the system like Ben Olsen and new OES teacher and former Rider Tony Mcmorrow, I'd like to think there's options.

I know it's off topic, but from what I'm hearing, news out of Wooster won't come until after the holidays at least...stay tuned.

We lose all of our WR's....but have some options coming back.

Brandon Johnson and Kyle Ritchie both caught passes Saturday, so have to think they'll be WR's next year.....what about moving Zook out to WR? He's got blazing speed. Nick Graber would be a nice slot receiver too.

I think we'll be ok there...returning some line experience and got some young frosh that can make an impact next year if they put in the work (Dyson, Innman).

My first thought is we will struggle next year because we lose game changers in Turner and Breener. But, 5 knots is right. It is up to the kids how good they want to be. I don't think you can count any Orrville team out.

If the McCreary's are indeed out at Wooster, Week 10 becomes a ballgame again...and Wooster may have more talent than the Riders over the next several seasons.

the law of averages is due to kick in, right?

I hope not...I'd like to see Orrville win 10 in a row so we can print up some "Decade of Dominance" shirts.

Potential starters for 2012:
Offense:
QB..Lichti (Sr.) Short (Soph)
RB..Dyson or Inman, Zook
WR...Johnson, Ritchie, Zook, Inman, Ty White
TE..Summers
FB..Summers, Graber
Oline..Brown, Kick, Vierheller, Seigrist, Simon, Taylor

Defense:
Dline..Kick, Seigrist, Brown, Simon, Taylor, Vierheller
Dbacks..Ty White, Johnson, Coleman
LB's..Summers, Zook, Infield, Dyson (Hoobler will be a frosh next yr)

Kicker...Cruz (to be a frosh)

With some hard work in the off-season and a "CONSISTENT" "GOAL FOCUSSED" weight room workout from EVERYONE...and this team could get where we as Rider fans expect them every year!

Work hard guys, it is up to you! (..and can Matt Davis get a medical red-shirt for his senior high school season and return for another year?)...Oh how I wish!
