Former players and coaches use the facility from all sports and levels of the district at all hours. The underlying rule is that a staff member should be present. Probably not happening 100% of the time because multiple people have keys. It is not a facility where a person can go to "workout" on his own. I don't know the details of your "friend's" request but sounds like Coach D would have had to be the one supervising the guy. If Coach D said no then he didn't want to be the spotter.....if a coach says yes to someone and supervised them ,,,,then no problem. Don't try to lay this on coach D like he is the governing body of the facility.....far from it.

I was simply telling what was told to me. I wondered how long it would take 5k to rush to his buddys defense. Maybe if he took off the friendship blinders he might be able to see the shortcomings of devault as a football coach. By the way 5k why on earth does devault stand 20 yards away from his team during games. Have never seen another coach distance himself from his players like that.

Run for school board. That's how they non-renewed Johnson over at McKinley. Bunch of people with axes to grind and 9th grade educations making personnel decisions.

Why do you have to stand by your players? My guess is that he does it by nature and probably doesn't even realize that he is doing it.
And is there a reason that we can't be friends with our head coach?

Seems like I recall Klinefelter at Canton Central Catholic walks all up and down the sidelines and doesen't just stand at the line of scrimmage or in front of the team and his record hasn't been to shabby, and I seem to remember seeing Chuck Kyle is not on one spot but moves up and down the sidelines. I think it is just a coach watching the field and not what is behind him, no big deal one way or the other. Difference in a way a coach sees a game than fans see. And how can some fans see anything from the sidelines while trying to see through players and whoever else stands on the sidelines, and how can anyone see the game standing at the fence in front of the concession stand or end zone.

Those guys standing at the fence know more than anyone...just ask them. I think our stands would look more full if they joined the rest of us in the bleachers...but to each their own.

Guessing they want to be able to "speak their mind" without a player or coach's family member calling them on it.

It is easy to be a know it all from the fence because you can't see a darn thing from that view so your always right! And RR1 you are right, they would look pretty foolish having to answer to people that are seeing what is going on!! lol

So..rr1...have you "asked" any of those guys standing at the fence what they do or don't know? Do you really think that those guys are afraid of being "called on their comments"?

Perhaps the coach/player family member knows that to a point perhaps they're right in some of their critique.

Some of you guys (especially you rr1), are always defending the coaches as doing a good job and asking why don't they visit the coaches (as they (have an open-door), and air their disgruntlement. Currently, Coach Slaughter is 1-6/1-7, you didn't do much to defend Coach Short and he never had a losing record and you yourself criticized him. With all your criticism, did you ever air your disgruntlement face-to-face?
