Really, good luck to both teams. Just like every year I hope the Champs come out of our region.

Oh noes, you're not going to root for our team? Boo hoo. I'd rather have people root for us who have experienced week 13 in the last couple years.

Don't worry, even your unearned sense of greatness, and overuse of fallible logic cannot destroy my respect for Dover's head coach and what he has been able to accomplish over the years. He's great at QB development, shows great sportsmanship, and he's a fellow Kent State alum so that helps too.

He is a great coach. Its more than football with him, its about never disrespecting your family and the name on your chest. Thats why win or lose the Dover players will shake your hand, head to the Dover sideline, face the fans and do Dover Jacks. Can't say the same for the Big Red players. Apparently some of them forgot about sportsmanship after last years defeat in the playoffs.

Yes, some of them did. Your coach didn't, instead of celebrating he went out of his way to talk with a few players who laid defeated on the ground. Some of us saw that and really respect him and how he does things.

Dover is surrounded by proud communities. Playing for New Philadelphia might not mean something to you, but to those kids it does. Same with Claymont, Indian Valley, Garaway, Strasburg. People here know there is more to life than uprooting their families so their kid can play for Dover(playing the part of Big Red in this scenario). In these communities the name on the shirt is more than just a sport.

this is a great post great job!!!!!!!

Ill never root against any public school playing the U of M You just got to take the fight to them .. Mooney is a cocky bunch but they always have been . they had 13 players we had 11 .. Dover just needs to fight like he// even if you get down you have to keep smashing them .. your boys just need to go out and enjoy some heavy contact .. have a blast and smash them as much as you can .. They will find out that they are not intimidating like they think they are .. Just keep smashing them for 48 minutes .. thats all you can do .. they have great athletes and they are big as usual . there schemes though are generic ... It will be a high scoring game but you have to make them punt a few times

Why hate them? They got lucky against one of the worst BR teams in history and it will never happen again. NEVER.

Kind of like one of the best BR teams in history got lucky in '06 to squeak out a victory against Dover?

Does Dover use their own kids or import them from outside the district?

I remember a lucky 100 yrd pick six by one of the most talented athletes in d3 that yr (now a starting QB on a Good D1 team). His whole career was nothing more than luck. I recall another key int ( and o e of those homegrown boys getting knocked the f#@% out on the return by one of our homegrown LB's).

Lot of luck went into that W over Diver's dream team. We got luck Diver had never been hit like that in any of those games against teams like Claymont. Diver couldn't shake the cobwebs out there heads in time to pull off a comeback.

You would take a lucky state title in a heartbeat.

That was Dovers "worst" playoff qualifying team that beat Big Red at death valley. You hate because for the second year in a row its basketball season in Steubenville and Dover is still playing.

Question: if we hate bc Dover is still playing and SHS is not, what is the motive for all the hate toward Big Red from you Diver boys over the years, back to the JJ days?

Jealousy. Steubenville was what every division 3 program wants to be

Was that Weirtons own Bronco Busick that laid the Dover receiver out?

That pick 6 by Wintersvilles finest was one of the best plays id ever seen too

No it was Steubenvilles own Nick Vogagis. Who was that poor boy? Does he even remember who he is?

I think wintersvilles finest was a Big Red ball boy while he was a student in Steubenville City Schools as a youngster.

Just more talk from the Diver boys.

Why don't you Diver boys take a page out of Coldwater's book. Take your hometown, community pride boys. Go win a state title, along the way beating some big time private schools and some big time public schools who illegally recruit all their good players.

Then you can save yourself the trouble of having to make all these excuses. Coldwater does it with their own boys, playing in a much tougher league. Surely for as much talk as you Diver boys do, you have the ability to actually win something. Heck, you beat Big Red at Death Valley.

Win something. Anything. Or don't and just keep talking. Who am I to tell you what to do.
