Hundreds of people are dispersing after police sprayed a substance on the campus side of College Avenue. #PSUCharges

Reading Reclegend's posts on this thread, he has to either be Graham Spanier or Tim Curley. Or Scott Paterno.

All that's left to be done is for John Barr to be caught up in the line of mace.

John Barr is the man.
Stu Scott tells him to hang in the area where people are being maced.

As for something hilarious to mask this sad night, there is a thread on the Penn State Scout board inquiring about a recent rumor of Paterno to Ole Miss. Lol.

And, yes, I was being facetious. I am as angered as any of the students over this, but I wouldn't advocate a spree killing to settle it. Lol.

@msanserino: A bulldozer just ran through the crowd. No joke. No injuries as people got out of the way.

John Surma just morphed into David Stern on ESPN. Was kind of hoping to hear that whole press conference replay.

Just read Kutcher's feed (I know who gives a shit), but did he really not know what was going on? Or is he just clowning the whole situation and all of his followers?

lol How would you possibly make the decision to go about it that way? That isn't just 'telling him over the phone'.Paterno received an envelope at his home Wednesday night 15 minutes before the board of trustees made their announcement, a source with first-hand knowledge told ESPN's Joe Schad. A note inside gave Paterno a phone number to call. He did so and was told by one of two board members on the receiving end "you are relieved of your duties."
ESPN article says
But the source told ESPN's Schad that Paterno hopes to clarify what he was told by McQueary as soon as Thursday.

LOL at people thinking all of this is justified. Again, this is Joe Paterno. Not some goodfella named Tony The Nose who accidentally lopped off the wrong guy's arm and now has to pay. Lol. What a fucking joke.Mulva wrote:lol How would you possibly make the decision to go about it that way? That isn't just 'telling him over the phone'.

It is justified, why would any rational thinking person think that itis not. This ain't about football. You can't have this kind of behavior going on in your University and let the people who have known for years that it was going on still work there, come on. The man knew and did next to nothing, not criminal but proved he's not the man he has always pretended to be.reclegend22;966092 wrote:LOL at people thinking all of this is justified. This is by far the most heinous epic failure in the history of ALL sports worldwide.dtdtim;965957 wrote:Penn State is a mess right now. A total mess. Both physically and emotionally. I've never seen anything like this happen in my lifetime.

I think the issue is, and always has been, whether Joe Paterno really knew or not.0311sdp;966119 wrote:It is justified, why would any rational thinking person think that itis not. I have always thought of Joe Paterno as an incredible human being, I think we all thought that. So I will wait until he speaks to render a personal judgment upon him.
Sandusky is going to prison. Paterno and everyone involved (except McQueary...strange) have been fired. We can all calm down now until he speaks.

Regardless of whether Joe's firing was justified or not, Penn State did do what was right for the University. Speculation on what depth of knowledge he had will go on for months, who knows what will result. That said, you simply cannot, as a university, trot the old man out there with the possibility that he knew more than he says he did. They can't run the risk that he was either lying, negligent or both. They needed to start cleaning house asap regardless of legacies and bodies of work. Joe had to go as a result.

In this instance, I believe legend was referring to the way he was fired.0311sdp;966119 wrote:It is justified, why would any rational thinking person think that itis not. This ain't about football. It's what had to be done, and IMO, it was the right thing to do. Regardless, it's tough to see a legend get fired (ala Woody in '78). As far as the rioting in State College? grow the fuck up.
