I guess I should've dropped a couple grand on a CPU then the $300 I dropped on my PS3...

PC comment was stupid. But also stupid is thinking a machine capable of gaming needs to cost a couple grand. You could build a capable system for $700.

Though I didn't feel like dropping the extra cash into my rig right now so I'm playing it on the console. Would love to play it on PC though.

Well I mean, you're using CPU improperly because a CPU isn't the same thing as a computer. But yes. I was just saying that the idea that a computer has to cost thousands to play games is really common and really wrong.

Also common and really wrong is the idea that consoles are necessarily shitty because they can't do some of the things gaming pcs can. They're great because they are cheap and since they're all the same devs can more easily optimize for them.

I blew a helicopter out of midair with a tank last night as I was driving towards it's direction. The damn thing crashed right next to me before completely exploding.

That was awesome to see. Also picked up 3 kills in the process.

I think bf dropped the ball on this one. Instead of making another battlefield they made battlefield into a shitty version of cod. It now plays like homeland and medal of honor which were huge multiplayer flops. Battlefield 2 was much better.

DICE made the multiplayer for Medal of Honor which probably explains the familiarity. If you play this game with the same intentions as with a game like COD or Halo you will be disappointed. I never understood the rivalry between the two as the parallels stop at modern FPS. BF3 is essentially a big team battle game in which you get to use nearly every cool thing in existence to blow stuff up on massive maps where as the other two are arena shooters, fast paced and competitive. BF3 could be as competitive if you choose to play it that way but you'll find the multiplayer design lacking in most departments games like COD and Halo are at their best. If you're looking for a high stakes, quick, K/D ratio watching experience grab a COD or Halo, but if you are looking for a game where you can enjoy huge firefights involving loads of multiplayer vehicles and weapons on outrageously large maps, go with BF3.

What I love is that the "standard" modes in BF make it so that people eventually understand that teamwork and not who kills the most people is the way to win. In Halo or COD even when you're playing modes that aren't about getting the most kills you get a lot of people who try to do just that and it makes the games less fun because of it. I like a good kill everyone game as much as the next guy and for that purpose I play the shit out of Halo but I think BF brings something entirely different to the table with how well the vehicles and classes are intergrated into the gameplay. One can have a great time and not shoot anyone just by being the guy running aroud repairing vehicles or healing everyone or laying mines and such. When you get two teams that both have a majority of members playing with this mindset you're in for a special and awesome game.

MoH multiplayer was very good. The problem, IMO, was that it limited to a few maps and the same games. After awhile you became bored with it.

FYI, if you rent it, you have to pay $10 to play multiplayer.

I've been a huge bf player since it started. This one doesn't play like bf the movements are not fluid. It is much more call of duty then previous bf. Stabbing someone is horrible bc you have to be at one of their angles to get their little throat slashing effects.

I feel the opposite. It probably feels more COD right now because there are tons of COD players who don't know how to play BF playing right now. After MW3 comes out I think this problem will lesson as those sorts of players will migrate to that/have enough time to learn how to play.
