I guess thats true. Seemed that a lot of posters over there were younger though, but maybe thats just the threads I went/go to.

I just feel that older folks on here are ahead of the times for their age. Whereas, younger folks who arent on the internet a lot are behind the times.

There was definitely a lot more older people at JJ. I always figured OC to be a site where all the younger posters migrated from JJ.

I like the seriousness of this site. I will check yappi and nosf for high school stuff.

For sure. That was a product of it being so HS heavy imo. This forum was really a spawn from the ST/I and I think that forum had a bit of a mix compared to the HS ones.

I'm 25 as well. And I agree with Laley and like_that about the posters age on the OC vs JJ. Pretty much a lot of younger crowd from JJ that posted on the ST/I and College boards over there came here and most of the older crowd stayed over there/didn't come to the OC.

Was '84 the year Detroit won? Because that's the first World Series I remember. The combination of that and Magnum P.I. made me a brief bandwagon Detroit fan. Fun times!

'90 Reds for me as well. I'm sure I probably watched part of Series before that, but that was the first I actually followed completely.

1975 Red Sox/Reds where Carlton Fisk hit one of the most memorable home runs in WS history to force a game 7. Reds won it all the next game.

1967 Cardinals vs. Red Sox in a 7 game classic. Bob Gibson wins three games, and Lou Brock bats over .400 with seven steals.

1989 Giants/Athletics. I remember it was my 6th birthday the night the Earthquake hit. Won't forget my Dad making me watch it and saying "this is sports history son, remember it."

1990 Reds v. A's. I was 8 years old, this is the first that I remember, but the following year 1991 Twins v. Braves was the first one I really followed.
