If the league hadn't decided to honor Al with 3 attempts in the final 5 minutes at screwing his franchise for about the 100th time, the score wouldn't have been nearly as close. jacoby ford was pretty f***ing fast on that return. also really liked the raiders offensive play-calling...kept us on our toes all day. really sucks what happened to jason campbell. maybe a call to david garrard will be in order

I chose to go with the receiving stats because there's no way you would possibly be implying that his ability as a kick returner means he's good at playing wide receiver. At least not as good as "Best Receiver Not Named Jerry Rice" candidates Dante Hall, Az-Zahir Hakim, Josh Cribbs or Eddie Drummond are at it.

And just to address the part of your post I didn't quote, I'm pretty sure I said DHB had the most potential of any of their receivers, and that he was one of the couple of receivers who wasn't garbage. So totally in my face on that one too.

Biggest thing I noticed was that the Browns lack serious speed, the linebackers suck and McCoy's fabled "accuracy" is nothing more than a myth. This team better hope Indianapolis & Miami pull 3 wins out of their ass so they (Browns) are in the Luck Sweepstakes.

Please the league honored Davis by making sure the Raiders won last week.

I don't know how anyone can honestly evaluate McCoy as a QB when there are so many negative variables working against him at this point.

The OL played its second game in a row together as a unit. Guess what: it looked like it.

Little looked pretty good one some of the routes and should have had a TD or pulled in that pass at about the one yard line. The ball was perfectly thrown and he simply didn't catch it. Think how much better he and Mo Mass would be if there was an AJ Green-type receiver pulling two defenders regularly in a game?

Hillis was hurt so we arguably didn't have the best runner on the field for most of the game.

The defense allowed two long drives that ate up more than one quarter of the game. Their inability to get off the field cost the offense at least two or three possessions.

Special teams decided to implode all on one day and give up 14 points (in a seven point game).

Yet somehow yesterday falls on McCoy's shoulders?

I'm not an apologist, but this team had zero off season to work in a new system and get familiar with one another, and honestly it's showing on both sides of the ball at this point.

I want at least the remainder of this season before even starting to make a judgment on McCoy as the QB for this team...and truth be told we should probably hold our evaluations for at least part of next season as well since he'll have only had about 1 1/2 seasons of experience under center.

Do you really want to ditch someone that quickly and start over again? I don't. I think this front office will get the personnel needed that might make such a change unnecessary; even doing it slowly as they have by building only through the draft.

Edited to add: I will say this...if one of the top QB's in next year's class falls into their hands, I'd have no problem with drafting them as insurance. Even if both QBs end up developing, I wouldn't consider it a waste since one could be traded for players or picks.

I completely agree. Not sure why everyone expected Colt to be putting up Manning type numbers in his first full year, especially with no offseason.

Good points, but he HAS to make better throws there at the end and give themselves a chance to win. When he has 3 downs to get 3 yards and cannot get it done, that tells me a lot. Either they didnt have that good of plays called or he can't find anyone open and throw a good ball too...He has had some big accuracy issues though, you can't disagree with that. And I understand that the OL hasnt been the greatest but he's supposed to be at his best when he's moving around I he still looks bad trying to get it to receivers down the field.

That's just it: he seems to be much better rolling out, and yet Shurmur has very few called plays that make use of him this way, that I can see.

Also, I don't know what plays were called during that last drive, so it's hard to evaluate what went wrong. I'm sure the coaching staff will let us all know what the plan was supposed to be, real soon. Not having Hillis on that last drive really hurt, too. He's a much better receiver than Hardesty.

If Hillis is going to keep being dinged up, I think we need to see some of Mr. Smith. His speed might have presented problems on the outside for Oakland.
