Hiland is on a roll right now, and they're the clear favorite, in my opinion. There are some good teams, though, and every team will have to bring it if they wish to advance, including Hiland.

Not so fast my chatter friends, I have a feeling all 4 teams are capable of winning a state crown, what do each of these teams bring to the table? size depth? what is Harvest Preps strength, guard play or bigs? same with Continental and Houston. I like the fact that 3 of these schools are rural, will have to get the milking done early this week.....

Well....the western part of the state usually is pretty strong, so I bet there will be some very good games.

What day do tickets go on sale at Hiland High School? I need to stop out and pick up 8 of them.

There will probably be better seats available at the game than what you will get at the school, unless you really like to sit in the end zones. Just hate the fact that the teams schools are stuck in the ends and not at least a few sections on the sides like 1/3 of each side, let players and officials of nonparticipating teams sit in the end seats :(

haha...my crew always sits in the nose bleeds..no matter where our tickets are. They will just be cheaper if you get them at the school and if Hiland wins, we will get cheaper tickets for the final.

Suits, administrators and so called dignitaries get the good seats.....fans get shoved in the corner and endzone. Pisses me off, oh and should your team win and you go to augzilary gym to purchase finals tickets, make sure the seats are together if your buying more than 1. It happens

Actually this year if you wait until right before tipoff you probably can almost get free tickets as the scalpers will be giving them away for some of the other games.

I ran into that problem with Garaway tickets a couple years ago....we were scattered everywhere.

I appreciate where Hesston is coming from. No chicken counting and avoiding arrogance, and that's good. But let's be honest. Who has the size, depth, and talent of Hiland? No one. It is so rare in DIV. If you make a list of the top ten players in the division, we have possibly 2 of them. Make a list of the top 15-20 players and we have 3. Jalen Miller, who in a normal year at 6'1" would be our post, is verstitile, tough as they come, and, as Rosecrans found out, can be the man. Dylan can get to the rim whenever he wants and has shown the outside game as well. Seger has his game at just a sick level right now. Noah might be able to channel Diebler and go off. Jason Miller is playing so well. Luke Burch is probably the best overalll athlete on the team. They all play demonic defense and make it hard for teams to get off their usual shots because of their length.

Mark is in the unenviable position of not being perceived as screwing it up. Very unusual things happen at the final four, but if Hiland plays its game, they are going to win Thursday and Saturday. Big if tho. But I like our chances. :)

I am taking more of the pessimist side of things. I think Hiland has gone down there with more talented teams and came away disappointed. The western part of the state has pretty much owned our region since the mid 90's. So I am worried about a team like Houston who may be "sneaky good".

No argument here. History is on your side. I thought we had the best team in 07, even though our starting post was recovering from a head injury. Hiland scored 16 pts in the first qtr, and then proceeded to score a big nil in the second. From there they fought but came up a point short to Georgetown - who went on to blow out, I believe, Worthington Christian for the championship. Joel Gause never touched the ball in the last couple of minutes. Like I've said, strange and very weird things happen in Columbus.

Ya my hearts been ripped to shreds in C-bus many times (5) (talking boys) actualy once was in Dayton ('86) the one win was elation city ('92) think Lima Central Catholic feared or even respected that team? have seen it all, thought we would blow out Ft Jennings and they took us to the shed and won the thing ...... I think they played 5 players the whole game. The farther you go in tournament play the more it hurts to lose, the beauty of sports.... just watch them idiot reporters in the big dance post game presser ask stupid questions like how does it feel to lose after a heartbreaking crushing defeat. (Pitts guys, Texas, K State ect.) and why didn't Gause get the ball.......... (that's for another day)

I can never talk about specifically why Joel didn't get the ball. Certain things are better left alone. But I will say that I would have liked to have seen Mark grab certain people by the throat and say, "If the ball doesn't get into Joel's hands, I am going to do serious bodily harm to someone!" :)

If we are in the same situation down there this week, and we go down, I am pretty sure we will go down with the ball in the hands of the right player... and I can live with that.

^ I think the right guy took the shot at the end....smh...a guy that I never seen shoot a 3 through their entire playoff run. I just remember how poorly both teams played and when I left I thought...."man, Georgetown is going to get slaughtered in the final."

I was just wondering how soon before game time the doors open. I know there are games going on through the day so the gym has to be cleared from the previous game. For example, for the 8:30 semifinal game between Hiland and Continental, what time will I be able to get in? I'm just trying to figure out what time to arrive. Thanks.
