Williams is 6'8. How much taller are these guys defending him?

6'8 is very short for a PF. The guys covering him will be 2-3 inches tallerI see what jordo is saying. Very short? You do realize most centers are 6'10/6'11? PF is slightly smaller, 6'8 is about where a PF should be.jordo212000;807089 wrote:6'8 is very short for a PF. The guys covering him will be 2-3 inches taller

Also, its irrelevant. You made a point the guy needs to develop a jump shot, you've been proven wrong and you won't admit it.
Epic fail on your part.

Those worried about his size are more worried about it on the defensive end. Getting a shot off is the least of Williams' worries. If he's guarded by someone that much taller he'll drive right around him. If Jason Terry can shoot over LeBron Derrick Williams can get shots off too.

Even if he was 6'8 its not short for PF anymore. The league is changing, a lot of the Pfs are 6'8 6'9 range. Just are explosive athletic now as opposed to big bulky back to the basket type

Exactly.
Zach Randolph 6'9''
JJ Hickson 6'8'' or 6'9''
Kevin Love and LaMarcus Aldridge are both 6'10''
Carlos Boozer 6'9''
Al Horford 6'10''
I'm sure there are MANY more examples as well..

Wait, what? That's NOT what he's saying. In fact, it's not even close. He said DWill needs to develop a jumpshot, period. There was no gray area in his inital post. He didn't say anything about shooting over taller guys or creating his own shot until he got called out and proven wrong about his initial statement.
Just look at this:

Please, don't let the spin doctor fool you.
Also, he's 6'9'' and very athletic, I doubt he's going to have trouble creating a shot.

Caller on ABAO says the Cavs should take Irving and Alec Burks from Colorado at 1 and 4. He says Irving is just like Chris Paul. Not agreeing with this at all.

As long they don't take Valanciunas I don't see how they could end up with a bad draft.

I didn't read back that far so I thought that was what he was trying to say. If he really said he needs to develop a jump shot then that's retarded lol

Saying Irving is like Paul is very valid. Irving is not like Rose or Westbrook where they are superb athletes and jumping out of the gym. Irving is more of a pure point guard like Paul but with more height and still a great athlete.sportswizuhrd;807216 wrote:Caller on ABAO says the Cavs should take Irving and Alec Burks from Colorado at 1 and 4. Burks wouldn't be terrible just because he would be an upgrade at the 2 spot but I don't believe you pass on Kanter or Williams.

I haven't seen enough of Valanciunas to have a strong opinion one way or the other about him, but I'm just curious why you think this?

This. I know that there are quite a few people who seem to think he will be the best Euro big in the draft. I know that he has an interesting contract situation
Anyways, looks like the Cavs are starting to open up the Rudy Gay talks again
According to Amico the Cavs have also talked to the Hawks about Josh Smith
Alot of rumors out there right now, Thursday should be interesting
