Once Tressel got the emails, he forwarded to his personal lawyer, asking what to do. Because at that time, it was a Federal Drug Investigation, maybe his lawyer advised him not to do anything. Maybe his personal lawyer got in touch with the FEDS, and they relayed not to go anywhere with this information for fear it could blow up the investigation, and possibly cause harm to the players involved. Thus Tressel sat on the situation, but continuing to email Cisiro to keep tabs on players and situation as much as he could. If this were the situation, his hands could have easily been tied.
No...I follow that thinking perfectly fine.
However, as I've said on here before: not reporting the violations in April/June is not what people are upset with Tressel about. People are upset that Tressel signed a document in September saying that he reported any and all issues to the NCAA when he clearly didn't. People are upset that in December when the investigation into the scandal started, Tressel did not mention the emails from April. People are upset that when asked about it, Tressel said that he had just found out about the tattoo scandal in December when we obviously know that is not the case.
That's three lies that we know about for sure. There is no denying those complete and utter fabrications. So why are people who feel that Tressel's lying was wrong getting bitched out on here?
