I didn't want to start another thread for this question, but do you guys think that OSU have a #1 wrapped up? I mean, if they get bounced in their first conference tourney game...does it affect anything in their seeding?

OSU is a lock for a #1 seed already. If they win the first couple of games in BT..they will have the overall #1 seed wrapped up.

Still a lot of tournament play going on but I honestly think the beat down of 28 to a top 10 team means it's a lock.

I'd agree that the only thing they could lose is overall #1 at this point if they don't win the tournament, but Kansas or someone wins theirs.

I'd be shocked if OSU doesn't already have the #1 overall seed already locked up. Kansas is the only other one in the discussion, and I think even if OSU loses to Minnesota, they stay the top seed.

They just looked so good today. If they play their best, I'd take them over any other teams best effort.

I think the ONLY think OSU DOESNT have locked up is #1 overall, and Im not completely sold on that either.

I honestly don't see any upsets in this bracket besides maybe Illinois over Michigan (5 over a 4 I guess) and Purdue either losing to Wisc (3 over a 2) or somehow beating OSU (2 over a 1)

If KU wins the Big 12, they would have to get by Nebraska (tourney team), Kansas State (arguably the hottest team in the country), and Texas...no way would OSU get the #1 overall seed, unless of course they also win the Big Ten tourney which then I'd say they are the #1 overall.

If OSU wins the 1st two games, they are easily the overall #1 seed. The BT championship game is the last title game on Sunday...3:30. The Brackets will be a done deal prior to the end of this game.
Even at that, OSU/KU...really doesn't matter who is the overall seed. Both will be placed close to home in opening round.

Truth is, it's looking like the place to be is going to be out west, not close to home but a damn easy route.

Good point. It's not like OSU is fighting with Pitt for the top seed to get the home court. Kansas being the next #1 in line isn't a big deal since they won't be competing with each other for their specific regions.

That's probably true...unfair, but true.

How is it unfair? The committee has said in the past, that they really don't take much out of the conference tourneys. Much more weight is put into the regular season....as it should be.

Because Kansas would have 1 less loss on their resume' and a big 12 regular season and conference tournament championship. The #1 overall seed in the tournament lost their last game? How is that justifiable? Again, I know the committee doesn't look at the conf. tourney that highly, but when two teams have very similar resume's, the one with 1 less loss and both the reg. season and conf. tourney championship should get the nod over the other. But like you said, it's all for nothing since OSU and Kansas aren't fighting for the same geographical location.

OSU already has the #1 overall seed locked up, no matter what happens in the tournament, or what Kansas does. They are the best team in the country, and they'll get what they rightfully deserve.

Just think of the conference tourney's as totally pointless money makers and it makes more sense.

Conference tournaments mean nothing. Clearly, OSU fans should value a non-injury weekend more than a victorious one.

You guys may want to look up the last 10 or 15 championship teams the correlation to their conference tourney. Unless you're playing in the ACC, it's almost a must to win your conference tourney to win a title.
