Several of my good friends lived in the first house that faced Wyndhurst on the left as you turned off Bancroft. It was very common for the parties to spill into the street. They would just sit in their car up the hill and wait to bust us. They would constantly tell us that they were getting complaints from neighbors, but we knew it was BS because the neighbors were there with us! Actually, I can't say they are all bad. When I worked at the Main Event I got to be good friends with some of the officers. The SED guys were my favorite. I loved to watch them clear a room!!

thats why right there. the tolerance for speeding lowers in residential areas and such.

When I lived in Worthington my room mate got a ticket for tinted windows when they were rolled down. The day before the same cop had followed him home and was probably going to give him a ticket (who knows for what) then but, he was able to pull in the garage before he could turn onto our street and turn his lights on. He must have been waiting the following day for him to drive down the road that led to our house. In court the cop said that his windows were rolled up when the stop happened. What this cop did not know is that my room mates stepdad is the head on Internal Affairs for the Columbus Police and in court proceeded to bring up every past complaint this perticular officer has had as well as my room mate having 2 other coworkers in the car to testify that his windows were down. The judge threw the case out but warned him to change the tint on his windows. The best part about this is that the windows were factory stock from a Scion TC.

Lame. Cops are a pain in the ass. I got a ticket for rolling a stop sign, where I slowed to a crawl, and there were no people around. It is a pointless place to even have a stop sign. Don't get me started on speeding though, I can't believe we pay people to sit on their butt and pull people over for doing a little over some arbitrary speed limit. I can see 20 over being a danger, but 5 or 6? No way.

how many pedestrians you see on a highway? oh and there are more stop signs, turns, more vehicles entering from side streets and driveways. like i said, there is a huge difference between 5mph on highways and neighborhood streets. you can afford to go a little faster on a highway, on a residential street, those 5mph will make a difference when a kid runs into the street to chase after his ball and you need to avoid him.

The faster you get the more dangerous things are. Every 5 MPH gets exponentially more dangerous. Going 30 in a neighborhood is not any more dangerous than 70 on a highway. No matter how you want to twist it, most of the time there are many more people present on the highway than in a neighborhood regardless of pedestrians. I mean if you're in NYC that's one thing, but I assume we're talking about a normal neighborhood.

yeah, but highways are built to handle highspeeds, neighborhoods arent. 30mph may not seem fast, but its faster to stop at 25, than it is at 30.

LOL, it has nothing to do with how the road is built. You were talking about pedestrians and shit. You have a much higher chance of killing someone because you're speeding on the highway than you do in a neighborhood.

You know how many people have gotten hit by cars going 25-30 MPH and lived? Compare that to the number of people that have survived accidents over 65 MPH. It isn't close. Not to mention just the numbers of incidents aren't close either--way more accidents at higher speeds than incidents of pedestrians being hit in a neighborhood. I don't need a link, just to assume that is common sense.

so why do you think speed limits in neighborhoods are 25 and not 65? because they threw darts at a dart board with random speeds on it? it isnt just pedestrians, like i pointed out, there are cars backing out of driveways and entering from other streets. its common knowledge most accidents happen near the home, where the speeds arent 65mph.
