How was the Crooked Tree IPA ? Last time I tried it, it was crappy. I'm thinking I might have had a bad bottle as I believe I had if before and it was alright.

Nothing special tonight yet. Southern Tier Old Man Winter then had one of their 2XIPA's. Having a glass of wine now and thinking about busting into the bottle of Victory Dark Intrigue.

The one time I got a 6 pack of Crooked Tree I thought it was crappy as well, but it could have been sitting on the shelf for a while. I was actually drinking some Old Man Winter on New Years Eve; do't remember it much though.

Thanks to the both of you for replying. We tried it during an all IPA comparison and it looked 'funny' in the glass. Like the Sediment was suspended all throughout the beer. You'd spin and shake the glass and it barely moved, like it was a gel. I've seen that before in beers, just a couple of times, but I don't remember it affecting the flavor. It might have been an old bottle as I bought it was a single bottle off the shelf.

The first time I ever saw the same thing was in a year old bottle of New Holland Pilgrims Dole. It was from 2005 and we tried it in 2006 when the new Dole came out. It looked the same way in the glass, but the Dole was tasty. I still have one bottle of that 4 pack left.

Well you were wondering about the 120. I believe the 90 min was twice as good as the 60 min and the 120 was twice as good as the 90. There in lies the answer to your earlier question about the 120.

We'll be back in Ohio by then and assuming my wife doesn't end up pregnant, we'll both be in.

Okay I shared the Dark Intrigue with The Wife tonight. This is a good beer. It will be GREAT if sat on for a year, at least. I liked it very much, it was kinda raw/harsh. I hate to use those terms, but all I could taste was the vanilla and bourbon notes in it. Even felt the alcohol in my throat after having it. I've had Storm King several times and could not taste it at all. I will buy this again, stash it away, and Lord willing re-try it...This should develop into a nice one if given it time.

Had lots of stouts this weekend. Also had the 120 minute, which was just as glorious as I remember. At approximately 18% ABV it was a great way to start off NYE.

The stouts I would rate in the following order:
Founders Breakfast Stout - always a great choice. The coffee and chocolate flavors are enormous.
Three Floyds Black Sun Stout - surprised by the hoppiness. Almost reminded me of a Black IPA, but still w/ the traditional stout/chocolate flavors. Very good, will drink again.
Old Rasputin - Wasn't screwing around this weekend. Another great beer.
Bell's Special Double Cream Stout - This rated 4th for me, but still a great brew. Very creamy and smooth. Would drink again.

WTF is that?
That's some stuff we will probably never try. That brewery has always been over the top as those freakin' Scot brewers are Crazy. Frozen four times. It sounds like and IPA treated like an Eisboch.

I figure it would taste like Hops Schnapps. I mean 41% is downright absurd.

You know what's funny is a couple weeks ago I saw a guy that kinda looked like your description at Washington Square Giant Eagle but I thought you were a Canton guy.
