Attended the opening of Hoppin Frog tasting room. A few menu items, not much. Beer can be sought in 1, 5, 12 oz samples.
Never had the Dopplerock before, very nice.

Having a Wiedemann. Used to beer a beer on the lower end of the scale. They went under a few years ago. The name was bought by someone and he had a local, Cincy, brewer develops a new recipe. Nice fresh, crisp Lager that I'm really liking on this hot day...and anyone on here that knows me knows I'm not a Lager fan. That should say something about this beer.

Oh, I did pick up a couple of Bombers of Stone Ruin Ten. Anyone had this yet? I believe it might be my night cap drink tonight.

At the store a little bit ago and was going to grab a single to give it a try, saw the price was almost $8. I thought that might have been the 4 pack price then looked and saw it was $26. Decided to pass; I don't doubt it's good but wasn't ready to gamble that much on a 12oz bottle.Curly J;1458219 wrote:Thirsty Dog BA Wee Heavy. (Wulver)

They didn't have it at The Jungle, if they did I would have snagged it. It was in my top 2 at Beerfest this year.
They did have the BA Siberian Night for $23.99 for a 4 pack. Almost grabbed it, but it was too hot today to deal with a Imperial Stout. Plus I believe I still have a bomber of it...My mistake I don't have a bomber of it. Just checked and I have a bomber of the Victory Barrel Aged Storm King (Dark Intrigue). Might have to drop the cash and add it to my stash next time.

Got my mom (lol) to pick me up a 4 pack of BA Siberian Night. I'll have it soon I'm guessing. Just had my first SN Summerfest. Solid summer seasonal, though like Curly, not a huge Lager fan. This is passable though and hit the spot on a hot friday evening.

Either your Mom Rocks or you are a cheap ass, maybe both. You will like it.Commander of Awesome;1461311 wrote:Got my mom (lol) to pick me up a 4 pack of BA Siberian Night. Now onto the Ruin Ten. Trying it while typing this post. Huge nose. Reminds my of Hopslam YEARS ago. My mouth started watering by smelling it. Decent malt on the palate, with some hops of course. OMG. Can you say Citris/grapefruit finish. Just some slight bitterness, very little in fact. Like the bottle says, "A stage dive into a mosh pit of hops."
Wonderful beer. I'll have to drink the other bottle tonight too.

For what it's worth, I had this at like 10am, so it practically was a breakfast.O-Trap;1461242 wrote:Mikkeler Beer Hop Breakfast = boss.

Repping this. Thirsty Dog does a solid Imperial Stout with this, ESPECIALLY aged in the bourbon barrels. You will enjoy, and I'm not just saying that because the brewery is local for me.Commander of Awesome;1461311 wrote:Got my mom (lol) to pick me up a 4 pack of BA Siberian Night. Had a ruinten myself today, excellent beer. First DIPA I've had in a while that I thought was excellent. Finished that, and then took a nap. Fantastic saturday.

Picked up a couple bottles and had one last night. Thought it was pretty good, especially if you are looking for a hop bomb.Commander of Awesome;1461623 wrote:Had a ruinten myself today, excellent beer. First time I ever saw it was today at the 50West Brew Pub. I ended up taking a growler of it home. They make several small batches each month and rotate them in. The currently have an Imperial Red in the bright tank that will be their next roll out.Sonofanump;1461835 wrote:Curly, never heard of 30-37 before.

Southern Tier Imperial Compass - a sparkling ale. Honeysuckle nose with some alcohol, as well. Flowery, citrusy, and honey notes in the taste, as well as a hint of alcohol in the taste as well. Large, white head ... no surprise with the "sparkling" in the name. Creamy, refreshing mouth feel. At this ABV, it still manages to drink like a session beer. I approve! Will buy again!
I'll be having a Thirsty Dog Wulver next. Breakdown to follow.
