Wow ... That seems like a fantastic lineup ... aside from the ones that obviously aren't supposed to be.BORIStheCrusher;1386491 wrote:Here was our entire lineup, nothing too amazing but had a few good ones and a few duds as well...
Duvel
Ommegang Rare VOS
Ommegang Hennepin
Ommegang Three Philoshophers
Bud Black Crown
Yuengling Lager
Batch 19
Wienstaphaner Hefeweissbier
Goose Island Fluer
Chimay Red
Chimay Blue
Shadow Wild Black
New Belgium Fat Tire
Sierra Nevada Tumbler
Smuttynose Old Dog Brown Ale
Shorts Good Humans Brown Ale
Sierra Nevada Bigfoot
Stone Arrogant Bastard
Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald
Flying Dog Pearl Necklace
Founders Imperial Stout
Stone Pale Ale
Rogue Juniper Pale Ale
Rivertown Hop Bomber
Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier
King Cobra
Magnum
Some notes...
- The 40s were got as a joke for the most part, but the King Cobra wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. I 'could' drink one, on the other hand the Magnum smelled and tasted fucking awful.
- If I remember correctly, I poured out 3 beers: Rivertown Hop Bomber, Wild Black, and Fat Tire.
- The big surprise for me were the brown ales. One of my least favorite styles, but all 3 of these were awesome.
- It's been a long time since I had Chimay Red and it was so much better than I remembered. I wish I bought it more ofter instead of always getting Blue.
And the best part is there is a shit ton left over of which all I got to keep.

Tried 4 new beers this weekend:
Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout, Bell's Kalamazoo Stout, Schlafly Coffee Stout, and Peak Organic Nut Brown.
The Brooklyn and the Bell's are the only 2 I'd buy again. Wanted to try some different brews this weekend since I've been buying a lot of the same stuff lately. I definitely recommend the Brooklyn Black Chocolate out of all of them though, I thought it was great.

I've gotten into a funk where I almost never buy the same beer again anymore. There's just too many I want to try. Sucks was the exception recently, gone through 2 or 3 6 packs of that stuff this year, a rarity for me.Raw Dawgin' it;1386624 wrote:Tried 4 new beers this weekend:

I usually try new things at bars, I don't always like committing to a 6 pack. I did that with the Schlafly Coffee Stout, and it's dull and doesn't taste like coffee. The brooklyn was a 4 pack and the other 2 I got at a bar. But I'll try new beers when i'm out since I can taste them before i order them.Commander of Awesome;1386733 wrote:I've gotten into a funk where I almost never buy the same beer again anymore. Agree about Brooklyn BCS, I pick up at least a 4 pack every year.Raw Dawgin' it;1386744 wrote:I usually try new things at bars, I don't always like committing to a 6 pack. Yeah, about half the people either don't normally drink beer or mostly drink Bud/Yuingling so I was cool with the few crappy beers. Surprisingly they ended up liking most of the beers. My aunt drinks nothing but Bud Light fell in love with Three Philosophers which I believe would have averaged out to be the favorite of everyone.O-Trap;1386600 wrote:Wow ... After the tasting we had 12 bottles that were still about half full so me and my brother in law picked 'teams' (6 beers each) and finished them off. We both ended up pretty shitty and he passed out while we were in the middle of playing euchre.

Had myself a cheat day yesterday, and I refused to come home from work without a beer in hand. Invited a friend over who also brought one. We split a Dragon's Milk and then split a Barrel-Aged Old Rasputin.
My first time having the Barrel-Aged Old Raspy. It was pretty amazing. I want moar.

Ol Glory Beer ($2.50/6-pack) at Big Lots. Not bad. Anyone else had it? Might be the cheapest 6 pack there is.

Glad you enjoyed it. That god damn beer is like my go-to IPA now. It's only $8.99 for a sixer compared to White Rajah (which is more expensive and a lot harder to find) and Head Hunter (a LOT more expensive). And like you said, its fucking fantastic.Commander of Awesome;1387189 wrote:Having a Columbus IPA, fucking fantastic. So much flavor for a single IPA. Reps to Ohio.
Their DIPA Bodhi is supposed to be bottled soon and its even more amazing.

It's beer week in my parts this week and so far it's been incredible. Just today had Speedway (ZOMGgggggggg drools), Firestonewalker XVI (even better with a few months on it. Last time I had it, it was wayy too hot. It's mellowed and is incredible), Black Butte XXIV, Abyss eleven and twelve, and.... a very interesting sour imperial stout from lagunitas. Had a strong mustard aroma which was very unique. Thankfully they had sampler pours, otherwise I'd be drunj.

Having an Old Chub tonight. It's excellent, reminds me of a root beer or cream soda beer.

Reps for the St B...when i get to PC.
St. B is some awesome stuff.
No beer for me tonight again even though I bought some Nectar and Palate Wreckers. The Woodford Reserve is tasting so good tonight from my Cigar tasting so I bought some to drink at home.
If you want to talk about Bourbon then there is a different thread for that. /ts'd.

Next weekend a nearby tavern is opening up I believe 18 taps from Bells. Can't wait for that, probably won't remember much.

I'm getting some of this in the mail. Good friends of my mom and step dad own the brewery. They're going there for a tasting and tour this weekend.

Drinking Great Lakes new DIPA Alchemy Hour, pretty damn good. To me it's almost a cross between LEM and Hopslam. Pretty sure I'll be picking up another couple 4 packs.

Hope I can find this. I'm not a GL Fan but I'll try it. Do love the LEM. It's due out soon, couple of months or so.
