I have not nor have I saw it in the Cincy area. I'll have to keep an eye out for it. I'm not sure how far they distribute.

Note to self: when dealing with 9.5% Sam Adams Imperial Series Double Bock and 10.3% Sam Adams Imperial Series Imperial White while watching sports with friends...do NOT drink at same pace you drink domestic lights during these times. Three beers into the afternoon yesterday, it's still 85-plus and sunny...and it's all I could do to walk outside.

Stopped at Three Floyds over the weekend. WOW, wish I could go back. Currently enjoying their Zombie Dust, a must have for hopheads, it is awesome.

They finally have Fat Heads at Jungle Jim's. I picked up a couple four packs of Headhunter tonight.

I also got the last bottle of Cantillon Classic Gueuze and two bottles of Fonteinen Oude Geuze. Oh and another four pack of Devil Dancer.

I know and figured as much. The guys in the beer department really went on about how good the Fonteinen is. I've never had the Cantillon. Looking forward to it and all the sours I got a week ago across the River in Kentucky. I'm just really digging sours now. Maybe I'm burnt out on barrel aged... No never and I can't believe I even typed that. Neg me OTrap !!! Lol.

The only thing I've been able to even remotely age is some of my homebrew. I lack control.

Nice thing for me, is I moved to a place with this huge walk in closet that goes back, then has a ledge with even more space off the to the side. On top of the ledge I can stand straight up. From the ledge it goes back to the right which is dark, cool and away from my eyes lol. That really helps the self control.

Lucky bastard. Hmm ... I think Stone should make a brew called that. Maybe an Irish Red.

Or a Blend of the Arrogant, Oaked, and Double Bastard. Maybe misspell every word on the bottle.

Freaking awesome beer. Lucky you got it, I haven't seen anything from them on a shelf in almost 2 years.

Anyway I decided I needed to finally get some pumpkin beer and wound up with some Shipyard Pumpkinhead. This beer is damn awful! Very thin, and insanely carbonated (like drinking sprite). A small amount of pumpkin/spice, but the fizziness from the carbonation just takes over too much.

That's exactly what I was meaning with my post misspelling and all. Maybe make it a one time brew only. (unfortunately)

I was lucky to get the Cantillon. The guy at the store remembered I was really into sours. He let The Wife and I into their storage room and grab what we wanted. It was the only bottle left or I would have gotten at least a couple more.

Nice start. It will get easier the more beers you start saving and with time. You'll get to the six month point then realize how long you had them. Then you'll think I've had them this long what's another six months and they'll be even better. At least that's how it started with me back in 2005...and I still have some beers from 2005 in my stash.

Stopped into Jungle Jim's tonight and holy smokes do they have a beer collection. Me being the pussy I am went to the ciders and wow did they have a selection. Didn't get anything(stopped just because I was across the street) but will definitely be going back soon. Any good recommendations Curly J?

On another note, what is everyone's favorite pumpkin beer? Saw they had a bunch and want to try one. Looking for one that is as sweet/not bitter as possible. Reps for all suggestions.

I'm a closet fan of most ciders. It just depends on whether I want sweet, dry, beerish, or my pussy cider of choice Oliver Bean Blueberry. Actually check out Angry Orchard. Made in Cincinnati. (Sam Adams product)

As for Pumpkin, try Southern Tier Pumpking. It's my and The Wife's favorite (it's on the corner of the beer cave close to the ciders) I also like the DogFish Head Punkin. (grabbed a 4 pack of it last night) Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin, but that's heavy loaded with spices. (lots of Nutmeg and it may be one to gravitate towards) Those are just off the top of my head.

If you ever venture up here again to The Jungle let me know. I'm about 2 miles away, driving that is, only about 5-7 minutes. Love to help ya out with any beers/ciders. We might even get to sample some before you buy. I know the beer guys, but a couple just love The Wife...lol.

Yes, I'm a man who drinks cider. Wasn't blessed with tastebuds that like real beer, sorry guys. :)
Curly J;1249590 wrote:Don't worry about the Cider. You are not a true Ghey until you add Blueberry's to a Blueberry Cider. (which I'm guilty of)

Just an FYI, Angry Orchard is a Sam Adams product made in this not so Great Beer State with their funny laws. Well it's made in Cincy from what I hear.

Already covered that a week ago. :) But good suggestion, I have been loving that stuff. First real alcoholic drink I can have 3 or so of and I still enjoy it.

I saw the Oliver Bean and almost got it because I remember you talking about it, but held off. I think I may do like 2 different ciders a month until I try them all. Next time I go up to actually buy ill let you know, maybe next weekend.

Thanks for the pumpkin suggestions, I'll probably try one of those as well. Reps for you when I get to a computer.

Lol. I forgot about that conversation. Cider can be some good stuff, especially on a hot day. Nice thirst quencher that is low in ABV in most occasions. I'm manly enough to admit I like it when I'm wear my granny panties.

Weekends are wide open for me and most evenings are now that my shift has changed. I might even buy you a couple to try that are on the pricy side, incase you don't like them or not sure about spending that kinda money on an unknown beer/cider.

I'm all about sharing when I comes to good sudsy stuff of the alcohol type.

Last Saturday I was doing some outside work, I grabbed (out of curiosity) some Jeramiah Weed Lightening Lemonade. Not bad on a hot day. Got a nice little buzz while working.

Sounds like you got a skunked batch. I had one two weeks ago and thought it was good. That or I have terrible taste.
