The clue was that it's cheaper. I don't even think Kamchatka is cheaper.Sonofanump;1260908 wrote:I love vodka.

Italy might be the worst country to have a beer - over priced and it tastes like dog shit.

A lot of people have been petitioning for the release of these recipes:

I hear that. Peroni, Birra Moretti are both not on any of my short lists. That said, I don't know what smaller offerings they have and haven't tried any so I hope it gets better than the mass-produced stuff.Raw Dawgin' it;1261025 wrote:Italy might be the worst country to have a beer - over priced and it tastes like dog shit.

Good article, makes some good points. No wonder I used to get plowed off the Applebees brewsers.

I had these beers last night.

http://minhasbrewery.com/our-brews/craft-brews/1845-pils
and

http://minhasbrewery.com/our-brews/craft-brews/swiss-amber-ale
I really liked the Pils and the amber wasn't bad, but a little sweet for my tastes. Local beer store was selling a sample pack of 8 bottles for $11. There's 2: Pils, Swiss Ambers, wheat ale, and bocks. Never heard of the brewery but i'd buy these again. They're out of MN.

Never heard of either RDI, but I'll check them out if I run across them for sure.

Minhas! That brewery is right down the street from my mom's house in Monroe, WI (not MN, Monroe is actually about 15 minutes north of the Illinois-Wisconsin border and 45 minutes south of Madison).
For years they only brewed really shit beers (Huber, Mountain Crest, Clear Creek Ice) but in the past few years they've shifted to craft brewing. It's a little weird to see them brewing real stuff because when I say shit beer, I mean Red Dog-caliber beer.
They do their own and then some other places (5 Rabbit, from Chicago for example) use their brewing equipment to make beer. I'll have to try their newer stuff.

If you'll be in or near Akron in the near future, I'll buy you one. Everyone should try the Pumking.Commander of Awesome;1262595 wrote:Jealous, I've never tried this before.

I concur. My treat if you make it to the Forest Park area. I'm surprised you haven't had it where you moved from.

Strongly disagree... but we've had this discussion before ha.O-Trap;1262597 wrote:If you'll be in or near Akron in the near future, I'll buy you one. Everyone should try the Pumking.
I love pumpkin pies though. Pumpkin beer reminds me of what lewis black says about candy corn...in my mind it sounds good, then i taste it and wonder what the fuck i was thinking. I almost bought pumpkin ale from Dogfish head...i hate pumpkin beer, but something in my mind always goes "you love pumpkin pie, how bad could it be?"

So far i've liked it - i tried their Lazy Mutt Farmhouse Ale last night. I've liked the pils the best, the other two (swiss amber and lazy mutt) have been a little sweet for my liking. But i'd definitely recommend trying them.gorocks99;1262383 wrote:Minhas! Eh, I said "try." I still think everyone should try it to see if they like it. If not, then obviously they don't have to drink it again.Raw Dawgin' it;1262691 wrote:Strongly disagree... but we've had this discussion before ha.

Purple Haze (meh) and a Goose Island IPA tonight. GI is Redonk. If it was as cheap as keystone, I'd drink it daily.

I had the Bock from Minhas last night - i thought it was terrible and didn't finish it. Of the 4 crafts i tried from Minhas i like their Pilsner the best.

Went to the local liquor store today, picked up a Black Metal Imperial Stout, Bruery Trade Winds Tripel, and Stone Du Buff. Wanted to try Black Metal and Du Buff for a while now. Currently enjoying a Firestone Pale 31. Excellent pale ale.
