Thank you Beast. Few people have your passion for Waynedale sports!

I see one thing that could let Norwayne down this season. Their EGO'S have gotten very big. Yes they have been scoring 50+ a game but they havent played the toughest teams out there. Don't get me wrong they are a great team but remember pride comes before the fall.

As long as they take one game at a time and not play down to their competition they will be fine....but the minute they think the game will be a cake walk or looking ahead to another game will cause that road bump.

It is just something that comes with winning big week in and week out.....great example is Genoa, we had to give them a couple reality checks the past 2 years lol.

Whoa....this thread has been bangin' since I last checked in. Lots of new posters. Lots of screen names starting with bobcat. Lots of fighting....
....and to top it off, 3 out of the 4 games were apparently pretty entertaining.

A few observations....

Hillsdale finds a way to win again. All those guys do lately is win games and get told how beatable they are. Week 10 is gonna be big.

Big Chief stays in Rittman.....if you would have shown me only the game stats, I would have thought Doylestown won. Congrats to Rittman anyway. A win is a win and now Coach Dennis has one. Is that good? or bad?........ I'd love to hear madmans take on it....or demoralizers.

Northwestern edges Dalton for best of the worst. Maybe next year the same game will be for worst of the best.

Norwayne faceplants Waynedale. Waynedale fans faceplant each other.....My take, I roll with Beast on all matters Waynedale. Ever since I've been around, here and JJ, he has defended those god awful school colors. You may not like his opinion....but it's from the heart, which seems to reside on his sleeve.

Otrap....last week is a past week. I'm over it and moving forward. I didn't read the whole reply because I refuse to be killed by your secret weapon....death by multiquote.
excuse the personal attacks....it's one of my many character flaws. Good luck to the Smithies.

Paul.....Enjoy the days your starters don't have to play all 4 quarters. The day will come when they will have to.....it always does.

wcalfan.....It seems to me that in the span of 5 days you went from condemning negativity in posts and pointing fingers to doing it yourself. I guess if you can't beat em'....join em'.
Welcome, fellow hypocrite and armchair QB.

OrrQB.....skipping an Orrville game for the WCAL......crap like that will get your Red Rider Homer card revoked:)

Bloody- I agree with demoralizer. While it was great to get a win and especially one against Chippewa, it was still the same ugly football we've been watching. Chippewa actually had a chance to tie it up twice in the 4th quarter but came up short. I'm happy to see the Big Chief will be staying in Rittman but in no way am I impressed yet. Next week we might have a shot at Dalton against a team that hasn't won a game either. Rittman better show up better than they did against the Chipps or Dalton could roll

Is this a joke?

Rittman better be careful...Dalton keeps improving each week and this could be the game that really gets their season going.

These two teams have put in the work and have all the momentum right now. That is ok. Honestly, with the exception of Smithville, the rest of the WCAL is terrible. I really feel the Bobcats or Falcons could make a deep run but the lack of competition in the league is not going to help them. Heck, it may keep Hilsdale out of the playoffs at 9-1!

Very good post, appreciate your thoughts

As for the Bears, all coaches get blamed when teams are doing poorly and praised when things are going well. The coaches know that and that will never change. The key right now is are there enough kids in younger grades who will continue to play so they can put the Bears back on top? The 8'th grade class has more boys playing than the entire high school team. I don't think they have lost a game to anyone in jr. high. Bear football will be back but with any small school, you can't be on top forever. That is not the kids fault, the coaches or the parents. It happens because the numbers are not there to sustain success year after year.

The coach will make dumb mistakes. (they all do) The kids will do goofy stunts. (they always have) So what? Stay positive and make the experience the best it can be for the sake of the kids. Let me tell you, it is all over too fast!

I've missed most of the weekend on OC. I was at a get together last night with several people from different schools in the county. Congrats to my Riders on a big win over a very good WH team. It sounds like the Orrville - Norwayne talk is back on. My Smithville buds are bummin. I'm curious about Whisperin Eyes comment about Norwayne's egos? My Norwayne buddies were ironically talking about how grounded the players are. They were talking about how the team has adopted a "1 game at a time attitude" and that they are not taking anyone for granted. They told me they were told that last Tuesday's practice was the toughest they've had all year. If the Eye is talking about the posters on here, I dont think you can use that to determine what the team is thinking. Everyone knows that all of us posting on here are pretty much clueless. lol. I know that nobody is actually taking what Paul says seriously........ God I hope not

Of course! BRF is kinda sad as his Big 3 all lost. BRF's favorite line from the weekend: "Death by Multi-Quote". And to that, BRF says "LOL and Ha Ha!".

Attended the Hillsdale/Smithville game. Refs were awful! Smithville fans...those pass interference calls were BS. Your #24 I believe had good position every time. I thought several times that the refs were ruining a great contest! It was however a very good, hard hitting game. Smithville has some real good ballplayers. Very physical game played by both teams. IMO if both teams bring that intensity against Norwayne, it's starters will play 4 quarters.
Side Note: Glad Orrville won and am waiting on that OCC/WCAL matchup that looms....then Orrville's freshman can get some action!:p
4Ringz u got the tickets right?

Footballnut, your pretty dead on about how grounded the players at Norwayne are. I took one of their top players out to dinner last night, and he said the same things that you are saying. He did chat about a Orrville matchup saying how it would be awesome to get a chance to play against Mason Monheim. These kids seem pretty level headed, only focusing on the task at hand. Maybe the egos are from some of us posters, I know I get a little cocky saying how games might be over by halftime but with me, its all in fun and I would be the first one to come back on and eat crow if I had to. For me, I have no kids playing football, but I have been around a while and I really enjoy getting to watch these kids play and watch the reactions on parents faces as they watch their kids. Some are clueless, some are not, but whatever happens the next 4 weeks, Norwayne parents will be very proud of their kids.......at least me thinks so.......;)

WCAL FAN

leadership starts at the top with the coaches then it goes to the seniors

how about when the head coach takes his headset off in the middle of the forth the last two games is NOT showing any leadership if anything that is giving up not to mention Zuercher didn't try to score with three minutes left with smithville he rolled over and let them have to shutout
