no power outage here in Northwestern Pa, but plenty of ice to go around. That made a drive home from Quaker Steak pretty interesting. Dont anticipate campus shutting down though, it hasn't in over 50 years

Chicago public schools closed tomorrow for the first time in 12 years. All schools here in Tusc Co have already cancelled tomorrow.

My buddies tweet about the weather...

Thing about this ice, it's not like the 2004 ice. At least in my area, it is more sleet type ice, which accumulates on the ground and surfaces, but not as much on power lines and such.
We'll see what happens.

From what I have heard; they are saying with the wind that is supposedly coming, the ice could really do some damage with the wind making it blow to trees and power lines and what not.

I'm in Hilliard, doesnt look like we are going to get above freezing anytime soon. We live in a condo, the neighborhood across the street lost power a couple hours ago. Our lights and cable have flickered on and off a couple times.

But here it's sleet, not freezing rain. So it's NOT sticking to power lines.

Meant to say NOT sticking. But that's just my area. Other areas with freezing rain or the heavy snow could be affected. Which could in turn affect me as well.
Generator is on standby.
