This is the best case scenario. If we do not make the sweet 16, this could be one of the biggest let downs for the US.
Even if Davies AND Gouch are out, we should still advance. Jozy has to show up on the big stage.

I don't think D is that much of a cakewalk...Australia did very well last year, Ghana is a tough African team, and Serbia qualified rather easily this year.

USA really lucked out!
If we can draw with England, beat Algeria and win/draw Slovenia we will get through.
And MAN Group G has 3 of the top 10 countries in the world IMO. (Portugal, Ivory and Brazil)

I was talking in reference to the seeds. Germany will take all 9 from those teams. If not, Id be shocked.

If US finishes 2nd in their group, they likely face Germany in the next round.

Ivory Coast only had one player. Their supporting cast has not been that great leading up to the world cup.
I really like this group for the US we should be able to beat Algeria and Slovenia to advance. One of the best possible draws we could have.
I predict Mexico, France, Argentina, Greece, England, USA, Germany, Ghana, Netherlands, Brazil, Portugal, Cameroon, Italy, Paragaury, Spain and Honduars. What does everyone else think.

Don't know a ton about soccer but my buddy has been keeping me updated and it looks like a great draw for the US. Avoided some of the heavy hitters and if they can win the group, they would get second place from group D which would keep them away from Germany.

Pretty much a nightmare scenario for me with my dad being German-American...
Really think the Germans have a great shot of taking the whole thing.

I should have known better... the World Cup is the epitome of SERIOUS BUSINESS.
I love the draw Team America got... we avoided France and Portugal, and we avoided Ghana and Ivory Coast. I'm a pretty big Anglophile, so this match against England has definitely gotten my pants wet (for lack of a better term). I'll be (hopefully) in England around that time, so that makes it all the more exciting for me.
Algeria and Slovenia should not be taken lightly, as both knocked out superior opponents in play-off situations (Slovenia beat Russia, and Algeria beat reigning African champions Egypt). It will be a tremendous failure on Bob Bradley's part if we do not advance out of this group. Apart from being drawn into Group A with South Africa, this is about as good as it could have gotten for Team America
