I'm becoming quite the chef, but I have to be honest... I struggle at making (fish) filets. Whenever I pan fry it, I burn it... whenever I bake it, I don't cook it long enough. :(

Wow.... and WHY is she still with you?

Imagine introducing that conversation anyway, "well, I was talking with some people online about all the lies I told you a decade ago...and they convinced me that I should come clean so we can move on."

And when she asks him why he didn't tell her the truth he can say "well, I was talking with some people online about all the lies I told you a decade ago...and they convinced me that I should just ride it out and hope you never find out"

I don't see that turning out any better...lol!

Good point. Ha ha.

Of course, if he tells, he'd have to bring up the OC because he is trying to be this new, honest person. If he doesn't tell, he can just add the OC to his list of lies. Dude is in deep, damn.

Anyway, I think I might have started this off track conversation so be sure I'm contributing to the original topic, regarding the filet....throw it on the Foreman and then get down to business.

I didn't read anything above, but as a kitchen manager of a Steakhouse, I'm going to give you some advice. (you know since you prolly already did this and I have no clue of the results)

Wrap the filet in bacon the night before, use toothpicks to hold it together, shove those toothpicks in deep, cause your going to cook the filet with the bacon on it.

Now heat a pan of butter or margerine up until lits melting, put a teaspoon of each of these in a baggie (per filet) and mix em together 1st... nion powder, garlic powder, meat tenderizer, salt, pepper, and then add a pinch of chili powder. put that bag of mix in a salt shaker...season one side of the steaks, and put the seasoned side DOWN for 60 seconds, season the top of the steaks with the same mixture immediately before flipping. Another 60 seconds, and its ready to roll. I suggest grilling it to her "flavor" if you have a BBQ Grill. If you have a grill, pray to GOD she doenst want it Well done! LOL

Mid rare is hot and cooked looking, medium is blood starting to ooze from the top, mid well is a medium after the blood, and a well done is a piece of shoe leather.

The other alternative is heating an oven to 275 afterwards, wrapping the steaks in aluminum foil, and cooking them for an hour, its also a really good flavor, turns out well, but not like a grilled well, very juicy. Its also a longer process, and the bacon doesn't crisp.

Just my suggestion a recipe for you or anyone who wants to use it!

Happy cooking ya'll!

Thanks for the advice....i prolly would incorporate that for next time especially the bacon part.....the meal actually turned out great but i would say it will be better the next time i make it...i didnt really have the timing of the meal together where everything gets done at the same time there was a definite 5-7 minute lag....

i really think she cant take any more right now, like she seriously would break up with me. If i wait and i can get like 6mo-1 year under my belt before anything else comes out then i probly could fight through it.... two weeks ago she broke up with me over this other lie and we didnt speak for two weeks. (and i found out that she had dinner with her ex to "catch up" coincidentally)...she mixed that in while saying that she wanted to renew our commitment.... now we are back on track and i guess in the facebook era we now both say "in a relationship" on facebook. this was actually after dinner that we have been discussing. this is the first time we have ever done this. we are trying for a fresh start with no past since we did break up for two weeks.

we are hanging out tonight for her parents 40th anniversary, on saturday we are going to the buckeyes basketball game and then on a 12 bars of christmas bar crawl, and on sunday am we are going xmas shopping and then watching football. it should be a great weekend and i should get laid at least 6-7 times. I m not ruining that right now...and i really really like her i was miserable when we werent talking. couldnt eat couldnt sleep...walking around w/ a lump in my throat....

we have been talking for so long that really i had lost my whole stable. so when we broke up i had like zero girls to call, and really even a lot of my homies were like "where the ef you been you havent called me in a while" the girls were like "i have a boyfriend now"....or "why did you stop calling me"....so it really sucked i cant go back to that.

on another note...if a mod could delete this thread sometime soon that would be great.

i'm gonna be honest, she sounds like a lot of work. don't be offended but to clearly assess your situation I'm gonna need a few things from you:
1. a picture of her (is she worth it?)
2. a picture of you (can you do better?)
3. your age, her age (is the drama because you're both 21? or because she's mentally fragile?)
4. career paths for each (what will a life together for you look like?)

I think I can do you some good here. I can at least say whether or not you have a good chance to make it (assuming that's what you're after here).
