So far, with about day and half of implementation, I have noticed a difference. Not sure if its actually that posters have been given troll points/banished to troll forums or the threat of such, but so far it seems to be have made an impact.

I think we should be able to appeal the warnings. I got a warning yesterday for not agreeing with WOmantooth. I feel this site has become Roger Goodells NFL. Please explain the rules before you go punishing people for breaking them.

Well, what exactly IS a troll, by definition of the board? Is fighting a troll by trolling tactics not trolling in-and-of itself?

For example: I wanted to comment on the Cavs game last night and how I think the players embarrassed the City but thought that I would've been banned. I feel like James Harrison.

Well, in Art's case, it probably was more for a post on a Cavs thread where he said "Ignore the boos from the inbred fanbase and drop 50 on them.", which is the sort of trolling comment that tends to lead to 5-page bitch-fests that cause people to mass facepalm...as opposed to not agreeing with WOmantooth. Which ties in with the purpose of all of this...keeping the "inbred fanbase" comments in the Basement forum so people who actually enjoy discussing/bantering about sports can do so without every thread being derailed because someone's life enjoyment comes from being annoying.

I just think that the new "trolling" thing creates a clique-ish atmosphere. People are going to get infraction points for the mere fact that they are not liked, while a "buddy" will be allowed to have comments slide by. When rules are created, this ALWAYS happens.

It does one thing very well though, and that's limit the five page facepalm bullshit that Heretic mentions. The targets aren't the once every three month jabs given by reasonable posters, it's the daily offenders. I'm fine with it.

I am liking this new protocol so far. Certain posters can remain assholes without trolling, and I haven't seen capone post on a Cleveland thread for a couple days now. That has to be a record.

Hi guys, anyone ever heard of protocol zing? is this a game related protocol or what? tried to search on google, but the definition I get seems to be way too technical for me, till I arrived in this forum. Doing some research project. thanks to anyone who can help!
