Wes changed my user signature in the first month I was here. I never said a word about it. I didnt put that stuff up under my ID about Allen Iverson. But, did I care? NO, this is a chat site and ppl are expected to bust others chops and challenge others opinions. Now you can get "punished" for this? Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa WTF.

We'll see what happens, but this seems like a slippery slope to me. We know who the trolls are, but what about other people on the fringe? Isn't this kind of subjective? Won't troll posters just come up with new usernames anyways? I still think the best practice is to ignore them

Well, obviously we need a very precise and extensive definition of what "trolling" is. Neither Websters nor the Urban Dictionary has a definition that fits.

I know most of us hated what JJHuddle became towards the end. You couldn't say or do anything without fear of getting the gong. That's what the appeal of Ohio Chatter was/is. Now we are taking a step in their direction. And for what? To force a troll to spend 5 minutes getting around his IP ban?

I'd argue that I really am not being all that serious. I really think it is sad/funny that some of the guys on this board just can't ignore or laugh off some of the crap that is posted.

Like I said, I'm interested to see where this goes and I'll have an open mind. If it works, I'm all in favor of it.

I would just take special note of what is going to be done at first....we get to mess with their avatars and sigs....
