Well, oh Wise One, I wasn't aware that Irene was an Amish name. Sounds more like an old Wayne County farmer name, though!1_beast;879610 wrote:Whats an Amish woman have to do with Orrville's scoreboard

Anyhow, the game thread cracks me up on how some people are SO wrapped up in making a score prediction. Just get the win. That's all that matters.

Scoreboard looks very nice, cant wait to see it in action next Friday!
Now all we need is some field turf and some new fencing/central main gate bricked entry area and were good!
Thats not too much to ask for!

Team awards from tonight's dinner:

110% award: Trevor White
Game changing play: Trevor Sommers
Big Hit: three nominations....Drew Brenner, Drew Brenner, Drew Brenner...Winner Drew Brenner

Congrats to all the Riders. As Coach D re-iterates every time they distribute awards none of any of this happens if all don't contribute. Beat Trway

Will the top be installed in time for the next home game? Also what happened to the 24 sec. clocks that were bought for the field?

From images that were posted on the blog I thought (Red Riders) was the top piece...Also just noticed that it appears that there is a 24 sec clock installed on scoreboard, very nice.

Riderpower,
The top piece is coming from FLA and got delayed by last week's hurricane. It will be here early next week.
The play clocks are installed...the one is affixed to the scoreboard and the other is by itself on a pole in the south end. I guess they will be wirelessly controlled by the back judge of the officiating crew.
NWindian,
Here's the top piece...a lot like Louisville's I think.

Primary reason for going to Red Rider Stadium this AM was to see the scoreboard operating during actual game conditions. It is great with the graphics and presentation of information. One glitch noted, the 25 second clock became a problem for the official who was operating it remotely, however, that is to be expected with a new device. Was pleasantly surprised at how well the junior varsity was playing that the scoreboard became a secondary reason for my attendance. It was a treat to watch the young men play. Go Big Red.

Not sure if that was in the second half (the 25 sec clock) They ran the clock continuously and that may have made it seem like it wasn't working

The play clock was glitchy in the 1st half.....hope they get it figured out before Friday.
Scoreboard is beautiful....really a great addition to our stadium and campus.
Can't wait to see it under the lights this Friday.

Big thing I like last couple games is this: If a team scouts us and thinks we are the Turner/Brenner/Monheim show they will be in for a big surprise. You pay special attention to those guys we have plenty of play makers to get the job done....plenty. It always has been about the "Team" in Orrville and never a few guys. That is how you have to do it if you plan on playing more than 10. Great total team effort again last night. Beat Copley

Hopefully the scoreboard will work better than the triway board, ( pitman or ringz must have been in charge ) it was very entertaining looking at the board and guessing, what's the score!
