Plenty to work on for sure but we'll take a win. Always good to get that first one. 589 right RR1?

could not have been more proud of the Orrville community last night. What a turn out! They say it takes a community to raise a child and we know that better than anyone here. We praise each other's kids when they deserve it and are not afraid to correct them when they screw up. It also takes a community to win! And we proved that last night. I am a proud Orrvillian. From the class reunions announced to our own AD yelling in the mike to "Get on the ball" on a punt showed this is truly a great place. Red Rider Nation was out in full force and I hope it continues. Great job everyone! Matt Davis, hurting as bad as he was last night on the inside could have sulked by himself on the sideline. Instead, he led our sideline throughout the night keeping them involved and showing our younger guys how a leader should act. I could not have been more proud of a young man. I have never seen our sideline guys so involved. It had to be fun for them as well. We even had Kyle Simmons just back from pro ball in Germany tutoring our QB between series. Are you kidding me? Do we have something special here or what?

I heard Kent yell at the same time I did. Didn't that ball hit a NW players foot? I thought I saw it change direction.

Did some research....

Prior to last Friday, we scored 30+ points in an opener 9 times since 1980. In 8 of those 9 times, we made the playoffs, and in all 9 of those seasons, we averaged 9.45 wins per season.

So as history and the law of averages go....week 1 was a good indicator of things to come. (fingers crossed)

My thinking was it hit the Northwest player also, then Kent "get on it " Smith cracked everybody up with his homer yell.

^^And then the JV's on Saturday. It'll be a well-oiled machine by the time the Copley game rolls around.

Hope the dummy running the LED message center knows what he's doing. ;)

I wonder how much it would cost for BRF to put a message up on the scoreboard for 1_beast?......or for S62! ;-)

http://ohiostate.247sports.com/Article/Fickell-Tells-LB-Not-To-Commit-37428

What is the latest?
Luke Fickell has let a linebacker know he wants him to slow down on making a commitment. Why and who is the linebacker in question?
Fickell has let Monheim know he has moved up on the Buckeyes' recruiting board

Lots of talk from Columbus. Wish all that talk was backed by an offer.

I'll let those more in the loop comment.

It's pretty apparent Josh Perry isn't a LB and Odebinango(Sp) if they get him will be a tweener. The kid from lancaster is a big MLB type. They need the speedy AJ Hawk type (who would you compare him to?) in this class still.
LB
Josh Perry: (06/29/2010) 6'4" 225 lbs; Olentangy HS, Lewis Center, OH (06/26/2010)
Deaysean Rippy: 6'2" 198 lbs; Sto-Rox HS, McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania (06/15/2010)
Kwon Alexander: 6'2" 212 lbs; Oxford HS, Oxford, Alabama (03/11/2011)
Ifeadi Odenigbo: 6'4" 215 lbs; Centerville HS, Centerville, OH (02/16/2011)
Luke Roberts: 6'2" 225 lbs; Lancaster HS, Lancaster, OH (06/30/2011)
The two OOS kids are the only ones that would have the same skillset at Mason IMO and they are long shots.

Alexander's top five are all SEC and Oregon. Rippy from everything I read is not in the picture anymore for some reason.....he has a "mentor" like Pryor did???? Even Florida would not accept his verbal. Just don't know how long a kid can wait?

Hopefully not long, with the departure of Newsome, Bell, James Louis there are plenty of spots open in the class for Odenigbo and another LB. Maybe they want to see some 2011 film? IDK. I hope he hangs in there.

And Scott McVey (redshirt frosh) from Ignatius may be a medical waiver case with a chronic shoulder issue from High School?

I'm not sure what is up with him, he is not on the two deep (There are 2 walkons listed as backups for the Akron game. Tony Jackson and Chris Maxwell.) David Durham a tweener LB/DE also switched to FB this spring. There are huge opportunies in the LB core at OSU that is an understatement.
