Yeah I thought he was still partcipating in camp though.5knots;877595 wrote:It is his shoulder still....never suited up. tough break
Oh yeah for got to mention that a 2011 LB commit defected to pitt after tressel left and another 2011 recruit is still recovering from a broken leg.
McVey's comments from camp.
http://www.cleveland.com/osu/index.ssf/2011/08/ohio_state_assistant_coach_dic.htmlMcVey also was practicing but tweaked his shoulder during a recent drill and is sitting out to be cautious, unsure how serious it is.
"I'm still trying to get back to my normal self," McVey said. "I just need to get my confidence back and my health and just quit thinking and get out there and play fast."

OSU missed on Hoobler from Orrville a couple of years ago. They will find that out when he comes to the shoe Nov. 5th starting at SLB for the Hoosiers.
I hope they don't let another one slip through their hands in Monheim!

Now, Now, Beast......You'll have to try alot harder than that. It's all good between me and BRF.
Any of the Orrville fans shocked at the arse kicking Wadsworth put on Ashland? It kind of looks like life after Fuller may actually be....well..... emptier.
Either way, Wooster vs Wadsworth should be interesting to OCC fans.

Remember they lost 2 Fullers. The All Ohio QB and his father the D coordinator. Ashland had 4 turnovers first half. This should be a good benchmark game for Wooster to see where they are.

Ashland has Dover this week. At Dover. could be an 0-2 start for them.
5knots...didn't know about the elder Fuller leaving too. Did he take another position or just got away from coaching altogether?

I was pretty sure he was stepping down so he could watch his son play at Brown?

[h=1]Fickell Tells LB Not To Commit[/h] · Bill Kurelic

Linebacker Mason Monheim (Orrville, Ohio/Orrville) was one of two Ohio linebackers that seemed to be vying for a scholarship offer from the Buckeyes during the summer. Monheim and Luke Roberts(Lancaster, Ohio/Lancaster) worked out at the Buckeyes’ camp in late June and both raised their stock in the eyes of the Ohio State staff.
The offer ended up going to Roberts who later committed to the Bucks over offers from Purdue, Arizona, Cincinnati, Indiana and some others.
However, two months later Monheim remains on the Buckeyes’ radar screen.
“I was thinking about committing to Illinois before the (football) season started,” Monheim said. “But I wanted to get a hold of the Ohio State staff. They told me not to commit because I had moved up on their board. My coach talked to Luke Fickelland he told my coach I had moved up. So I’m not in any hurry.”
The 6-foot-1 and 215-pound Monheim has been a varsity starter since his freshman year. He had a huge junior season making 130 tackles with two sacks and 28 tackles for loss. Monheim also intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown.
Monheim helped lead Orrville to a 41-27 win on Friday night in this season’s opener. Monheim played linebacker, fullback, slot receiver and tailback. He rushed for 140 yards and a touchdown.
Monheim has an offer from Illinois as well as almost every school in the MAC.
“Illinois is my favorite, but I don’t think I’ll decide soon,” Monheim said. “I want to see what Ohio State says and see if anyone else offers. But there aren’t a lot of schools that can jump Illinois.”
Kurelic’s Comment: It seems safe to say Ohio State is one of those few schools that could jump the Illini if they were to offer Monheim a scholarship. I tend to think Monheim does not land an offer from the Bucks, but if he does I look for him to quickly commit.

We all wish Mason all of the luck and success in the world. He is a stud and an outstanding young man but reading all of this makes me think Fickell's stringing him along. I'm with his dad. How long before some of his other offers start filling his spot with other kids? We would all love to see Mason wearing the red and gray. No matter what happens I'm sure he'll make Orrville proud

They've taken out the old score board and it looks like the new one will be on 1 post and a lot higher up. I'll have a picture later on today unless RR1 beats me to it.

Flash,
Two I-beams will support the new board. scoreboard will be 10 feet off the ground and board itself is 25 ft. tall. This thing will be a good 30 ft. off the ground.

Went by on the way back to work and saw the two poles (only one on the way home.). Sounds like the reserve game on Saturday will be its kick off. I see by the cement truck that you may have been tipped off as to when the poles were being set.

Flash,
Nope. No longer affiliated.
Kent tipped me off.
There's a freshman game tomorrow, but I'd be surprised if it were working by then. Probably installed, but not ready to operate.

Way Way too early to talk about that. Lots of names missing that will be there in the end I am sure. I am surprised to see CCC up there? I did not realize they were predicted to be so tough this year.
But I guess I just did talk about it...hahaha

The only part missing is the top part. Rain may slow it down. I wouldn't want to be up there with lightning.
