U-G-L-Y.

I've banged this drum for years....you can't make mistakes (especially 6 turnovers and another 100 yds of penalties) against teams of similar talent. Copley had similar talent, Chatman, Wheeler, Turner and Gigliotti were all big-time players. They can get first downs all by themselves, but how many did we give them by way of dumb penalties?

I think there was a sense (by some) that we weren't as good as the first two weeks made us look...and it showed last night. It bugs me that we can repeatedly shoot ourself in the foot and yet have two shots at the end to win it. Imagine if we cut out those penalties and turnovers?

Lex is going to come here in a bad mood after having it handed to them by Hoover. We better be ready.

Hate to leave those computer points on the table. Just a bad night, but it's how you respond that defines you.

Coach D said it to me after the 1st game...we're going to be a big play offense, and that's fine...we've been that in Orrville for decades, but I think that almost breeds sloppiness...because the next big play is right around the corner. If the big plays ain't out there, you have to be able to run the ball.

We didn't sniff the red zone until about 4 minutes left in the game. That's inexcusable for a team with talent like we have.

Feels like after the CF game last year. Got shutout and looked clueless...we responded ok the next week at Wooster and made a nice run....but I'm worried that we're regressing offensively over the first 3 games, and even back to last years playoffs. We scuffled in the Triway game and got bailed out by Stewart, we did enough in the EC game, and then put up 16 against Genoa and only 3 against CF.

Miyagi, should be a good game next week...both teams are going to come in ticked off and ready to prove something, atleast lexington will. I sure hope we do as well. I can't wait to see how the team responds.

Orrvilles D was outstanding last night to say the least,Haley,Mccully,Schrock have that D playing pretty good. The O on the other hand is a disaster.they have no running game, and the line is not good, and the QB has no touch on the ball and just wants to throw it deep all the time.He missed open recievers in the middle of the field. If the O doesnt get better it will be a 10 game season. How about take a knee at half Davault, your QB is already bad enough and you make him throw it again...get a clue and revamp the Offense. Do something that the kids are capable of doing.

Take the knee was my thought also, and why the timeout with 1 or 2 seconds left in the game on 4th down, Then why did Copley not just run off the time and take the knee instead of punting to Turner and give him a chance for a return. Play calling on both sides was questionable!

SMH!

Is everyone forgetting that these are high school KIDS? They are allowed to make mistakes....heck even the best professional players make mistakes! To ask perfection out of these guys is just ridiculous. You talk about Red Rider Tradition, and how Orrville football is very special and how it is unique to be a part of. Well it is, and these KIDS are going out each week doing the best job they can.....FOR YOU!! The problem is nothing is good enough, you have to have more more more. A lot of you guys jumped and attacked me for saying my prediction on the year and accused me of ripping the team apart, well I believe when you start calling out KIDS because they aren't good enough for you, YOU are tearing this team apart! I am sticking to my prediction, but I am waiting, hoping, and praying to be proved wrong because I know the talent is there to do some special things. Last night was a big wakeup call for not only the players, but fans as well. We have A LOT of work to do, discipline and offense has to be the top priority of the coaching staff. I know they will get it done, they always do...but you can't wait til the end of the year because it will be to late.

I love the Red Riders and want them to do the best they can with their God given talents, but I am no way demanding perfection out of them...like some of you think they can be or already are.

Go ahead, attack me.... I don't really care anymore, but just think about what you are trying to expect out of these KIDS!

Ya Im not even sure who the heck he was. Trying to do the math. He cant be Simmons or Bescanson so I actually dont remember him at all. He talks a good game but not sure who he is. And as far as kids making mistakes no crap OQB. In case you havent figured it out we arent exactly blaming the kids as much as we are the coaches and play calling.

Oh and dont tell us about the pressure of being the Orrville QB. Anyone who puts on that uniform feels the pressure it is not just the QB.

Of course...thats why Lichti was tossed under the RV...but noone said a word about Monheims fumble on the late drive in regulation...or Lemons fumble on the 5 in overtime...it was Lichti and the coaches.....

Carry on!
