Just 5 min. ago on The Herd, Cowherd said he is calling the firing of Dick Rod unless scUM can beat either Wisky or the Buckeyes. Even skunkweasel fans will have to admit CC is one of the better sports talk-show hosts out there and usually has a pretty accurate pulse on what is going to happen.

Since RR ain't gonna come close to winning either of those games...CYA Dickie, its been fun wiping the floor with you these past 4 years.

I don't think they'll fire him but wouldn't be surprised if they did.

He's just not winning.

I don't think he gets fired, but if he wants to keep his job he needs to run a 4-3 or 3-4 and fire his d-coordinator.

Cowherd also said Mrs Doubtfire is the greatest comedy of all time. He says a lot of stuff for shock value to stir up conversation. Rich Rod very well could be fired if they are blown out in both remaining games but just because Cowherd says its going to happen doesn't mean its true.

Cowherd? Seriously? That guy is the least credible of all the ESPN radio clowns.
Even if they lose to Wisconsin and Ohio State, Dicky will get a chance to save his job in the bowl game. If he loses all three, then I don't think there is any question about it - he will be fired.

Wow, you sure went way out on that limb that "least credible" Cowherd was already on.

this is how i feel. this defense (3-3-5, or whatever variation he's got) never really worked at WVU. it is the achilles heel for him this year when he's got a very formidable offense. time to cut your losses.

Cowherd doesn't really use "sources" so this is likely just his prediction. However, he is very smart and is more often right than wrong. I must be in the minority, but I love the guy.

The success of the offense irrespective of the defense will keep him around another year. He is on a short chain though, no question. He's brought UM under the spot light for reasons they'd rather not have first and foremost, whether found guilty of the infractions or not, they can't be happy about it.

Colin Cowherd has also been saying since RichRod was hired (and continued to say this earlier this season) that Michigan was soon going to dominate the Big Ten because no one would be able to contain his explosive offense. Well, Ohio State has won twice as many games as Michigan in his three years in Ann Arbor. I doubt that Michigan fires him if he loses the next two games since they did win seven games and made a bowl. Greg Robinson and most of the defensive staff is definitely gone though. If they lose their bowl game then I could see Michigan firing him, but not before. However, it would be smarter to fire him at the end of the season instead of waiting until after the bowl because it will give them more time to look at candidates and get the person that they want.

I knew Cowherd was a moron when he stammered on about Joey Votto being a product of his ballpark. I take everything he says with a grain of salt.

ADs don't fire coaches after bowls anymore. If he's to be cut loose it will be after the OSU game. The Natl Coaches Conf. always coincides with the NC game week and thats where many coordinators and assistant coaches are picked up and change programs. Pizza Boy is too smart of a business man to allow that opportunity to slip bye so he will definitely dump RR prior to that (if) he's going to do it.

I like Cowherd too I was just saying a lot of the stuff he says is to get ratings. He is a smart guy and pretty funny for the most part.

Absolutely he does it to get ratings. He talks about things that people care about.

Listen to him every day and like him or not the guy is freakishly accurate on predictions...which is what has me worried this weekend...he is calling an Iowa upset over the Bucks.

I think its 50/50. His "system" isn't getting it done in Big 10 play. If I were a UM fan I'd want him gone. I like his version of the spread, but I wouldn't want my team running that all game, every game.

His system is basically to score points, which they are doing. He just needs a defensive coordinator, needs guys to quit getting hurt and needs to recruit defensive players and not just "athletes".

I still think he can have success in the Big 10, but his defense is holding him back.
