This will now mean Salem will have had only 2 home games going into January 21st game vs. Struthers. Wonder what it will be like playing at home for a change ...... :)
Haven't heard yet...will try and get one tomorrow

Campbell lost to a bad Girard team at home last night by 10. Their next 4 games: Poland, Labrae, Struthers, and Newton Falls. Do I really need to state whats going to happen in those games........

Didn't look very sharp or as sharp as they should have against a bad United team. If that's the Salem team that shows up friday for a showdown with Struthers it will be a long night for the Quakers...

No doubt they were playing with a little less purpose last night, and it did show. I trust they will be ready Friday and it should be a good game.

Salem Schools closed today (Friday). Haven't heard the effect on the game yet, but I would think they'll try and get it in if they can. The schedule is already getting backlogged...both boys and girls.

Struthers definately deserved the win. Took Salem out of their game. Salem also had too many self-inflicted wounds in the starting in the 2nd quarter to stay close. Hopefully they learn from this and rebound in the rematch in the Fieldhouse.

Quakers definitely shot themselves in the foot at the end of the first half and the beginning of the third quarter, then throw in 12 missed foul shots and it got away from them. Struthers plays solid defense and handles the ball well. They are certainly beatable but we must defend better ........... look forward to the rematch.

Struthers is a really good basketball team. The Jacubecs work really well together obviously. Both are great players. Ryzaj is a good post presence. Good coaching. Not many flaws on that team at all. Last year I saw them more of a jack up 3's team that could get in trouble if they caught a cold night. THis year they seem like a much more well-rounded team. Should go far

Struthers played well - good win for them. A couple Salem players have to decide who they are playing for - the number on the jersey or the name on the jersey.... and Salem's defense must have 5 players committed to the task - 3.5 of them know that both ends of the court are important for a team's success...

The game was a blowout. It might matter to salem to win the game but as for struthers they can careless.

Ohio, you are very wrong with that statement. If you have been to games Struthers plays with passion and heart and every game does matter to them. The opponent does not matter. They play very well together as a team.Ball movement, player movement, rebounding and defense all simple fundamentals are done correctly. All these fundamentals were evident in game at Salem.Struthers has them Salem does not.Struthers is a very cohesive unit not worrying about who scores or gets their picture in the paper.
Actually the JV game was far more entertaining and exciting.

Yes, it was a very good game; the kid from Struthers hit twelve 3's I believe, but Salem improved to 9 - 1 with the win.

You don't have to worry about the Devils, they are so depleted that Struthers can name the score in that game. Coach Sav is a great guy, glad to see him doing so well.
