new coach, new attitude. Basically 5 returning starters. You're the one who needs to wake up. You would think a fan of Struthers would be a little more humble after 1 good season, after all the losing seasons in the past.Spread All Day;579625 wrote:1/22/10

This is a basketball thread. Thanks.omemorialhigh;586458 wrote:ease up there ohio...one good year doesnt make struthers the premier place to play basketball in the valley lol they have a good class, but you guys are gonna have to string together a good 5 years to start talking like you guys are the cream of mahoning valley. when the football team sux youll grasp on to anything huh
Ohio;587217 wrote:When did i once say they were the premier team in the valley? They will win the white tier easily. Salem got smoked last night by falls campbell on the other hand did look good against lakeview.
Didn't seem that way to me. Seemed like NF just kept Salem away at arms reach; I don't know if Salem ever even had a lead in the game. As far as the free throw discrepancy, seemed like Salem couldn't keep Falls from attacking the rim. Very weak defensively, both on the perimeter and interior.QuakerOats;588278 wrote:Although the final score might give you the impression that "Salem got smoked by Falls", that is not even remotely accurate. The game was tied in the 4th quarter and the Falls hit 14 of 16 free throws down the stretch including the final 7 points in the last half minute to make it 84-69. Sembach owns the refs in his gym as the Falls shot 45 free throws.
The Quakers will definitely contend this year.

Poland 71
Quakers come from 11 down to take a 10 point 4th qtr lead, only to lose it at the end. A couple of questionable calls down the stretch on Poland's home floor in addition to timekeeper failure at the end were costly. Tough one to lose, but Salem will win a lot of games this year; the new coach has this thing headed in the right direction.
