He is an offensive coach and I doubt he would deny that. To say he doesn't even try to recruit "top of the line" defensive players/kickers, is just stupid. Teo #1 OLB, Stockton #3 DT, Turk #6 Kicker. All freshmen this year. There have been others in previous years, they have just not been as successful as everyone planned.Cha'DIch wrote: Notre Dame needs to hire a coach who actually cares about all parts of the game instead of just the offense.
I don't think Weis even tries to recruit top of the line defensive players. He is more interested in going out and recruiting the so-called next great quarterback and wide receiver. It doesn't matter if your team scored 30 points per game when it gives up 31.
The kicking game has also suffered under Weis. I don't understand how a school like Notre Dame can't recruit a good kicker, and punter.
The defense and kicking game has cost the Fighting Irish dearly during his tenure, but he doesn't seem to care to do anything about it.
Goodbye Charlie! Thanks for nothing.
Why would Jim Tressel want to leave Ohio State? He has a great team returning next season and will be in position to win his 6 th consecutive Big 10 title and should also be in great position to go to the BCS title game.rock_knutne wrote:pooter wrote:If they're going after a high profile name.... there are many names higher up and more proven....

That's pretty damn funny, man. Seriously. I gotta give credit where credit is due.mallymal614 wrote: If Notre Dame defeats Standard, will the Irish carry Charlie off the field? Wait.......nevermind smh.
Or, they were just not developed..or put in a position to be successful.. which again goes back to coaching. Which I still am scratching my head about as Weis supposedly brought in all these top notch assistant coaches.karen lotz wrote:He is an offensive coach and I doubt he would deny that.
