The SEC plays more ranked teams because the media loves the SEC and; therefore, more SEC teams tend to get favorable rankings. It's easy to play more ranked teams when your conference is chock full of them whether it's deserved or not.

Florida has lost back-to-back games yet still ranked in the Top 25. That only happens to SEC teams.

I'm not denying that in general the SEC has been playing the best college football in the last decade and will naturally get more media love (and rankings),. My only point is the SEC plays its share of non-ranked cupcakes.

I wholeheartedly agree with the Big 10's relationship with the MAC due to economics. Less travel costs, more gate receipts, and the money stays in the region. And as a MAC fan I can't help but believe that as time goes on the MAC will improve as a conference as a result of playing Big 10 teams.

I agree Ohio State's schedule could become a problem later in the year especially if other teams remain unbeaten. Between Miami and Penn State not living up to expectations and the possibility of Iowa, Wisconsin or Michigan dropping out of the top 20 due to beating one another, the Ohio State schedule looks weak. No fault of Ohio State especially since MSU isn't on the schedule.

I am glad to see Nebraska football back too. Adding a power to the Big Ten will help in the future when deciding if teams are worthy or not. I say continue the 1 tough OOC game and then the Big Ten schedule along with the Big Ten championship game should be more than enough in future years.

Yes, but they changed the formula after that season.

I don't necessarily agree it should be changed unless it is a serious flaw. Basically they tweak the computer scoring to reflect what the humans thought it should be. Doesn't that defeat the purpose?

It absolutely defeats the purpose. :) But I think nobody ever expected the #1 team in both polls to get left out.

Not that shocking, obviously much of the positioning depends on SOS. I'm a Buckeye fan, but I can even admit that at this point Boise has played a tougher schedule. With that being said, Ohio State's schedule will pick up here very soon. There is no way an undefeated OSU squad isn't in the championship

its no fault of OSU because their schedule is weak? who was it then that scheduled Marshall,Ohio,Eastern Michigan? the only reason they schedule Miami is because thats the only one of the big 3 from florida they can beat.

Can we make a rule that you are not allowed to schedule more than 1 MAC game per season? Back in the late 90s-early 00s it was okay, because the MAC was actually a nice little conference. The past few years Central Michigan has really been the only MAC school worth anything

There is no defending OSU's schedule at this point, but it doesn't need to be defended. It is what it is, and they did what they were supposed to do. If they win out and don't play in the Championship game, then so be it. But the chances of that happening are very slim.

Ohio State will jump Boise and TCU, that leaves Oregon, Oklahoma and Nebraska. Oklahoma and Nebraska play each other and the winner of that game might be more deserving than anyone of the #1 ranking. So in the end, I think if 3 go undefeated it is either Oregon or Ohio State.

It would be hard, IMO, to put Oregon above OSU based solely on the fact of what OSU did to them last year in the bowl game.

You are really back talking shit about the B10 after last year when I embarassed you on this site?

How fast was Oregon, how many points were they going to put up on our cement slow footed defense?

Fact remains, and there is NO debate or conversation, that when OSU runs the table they will be playing in Arizona on January 10th, 2011. Keep trying to think that but you're delusional if you think an undefeated OSU team will not be in the NCG.

as i recall Miami defeated FSU in tallahassee last season. based on your criteria of what they did last season the canes should be ranked higher than the noles. what happened last year should carry no weight this year

they are basically unchanged? i recall reading something about oregon having a different qb this season. well maybe thats not a very important position.

Comical and predictable. OSU moves to #1 in the polls so it was only a matter of time before all the haters and trolls come out using the SOS bullshit. Guess what, NO CONFERENCE is head and shoulders above the other this year. That is a fact. For that matter, the PAC10 could easily be better then the big bad SEC! There are sites that have conference rankings that do in fact have the PAC10 #1. So now we get all these insecure thin skinned SEC fans ready to bust a nut when it doesn't look like someone from there conference makes the title game! I got news for you, the SEC this year is not the SEC of the past and other conferences are catching up. Just as many have said would happen. It happens, deal with it!
As far as who has played who at this point in the year...well, its just that, this point in the year! OSU is just getting into the meat of their schedule while others are or have done so already. Who cares when you do it, now, next week or later in the year. It all comes around and works itself out. And it will again this year.

Fact remains that you ran your mouth so fucking hard all the way up until January 1st when you disappeared. This is the same OSU team who owned basically the same Oregon team. Both programs returned basically everyone of importance (Oregon lost Masoli but they haven't had a hard time replacing QB's in their offense).

So you are telling me that the OSU team, who bitched Oregon just this year is overrated and that the Oregon team is better now? LMAO.

OSU will shoot up the BCS charts with their schedule, that is a fact. They already hold a dominant lead in the Coaches Poll.
