The polls have had these two teams as 1/2 since the beginning, I don't think they are going to change their mind because once again another Pac 10 team puts a lot of points up without a defense. Bama and OSU will bring in the ratings, the fans, the most money, the most history etc.

Really. I think it is not outside the realm of possibility that Oregon could jump OSU. Crazier things have happened. Who knows if OSU's offense stays vanilla, while the rest of the Big Ten conference suffers, while in Oregon blows out everyone and the Pac-10 gets stronger, Oregon could jump them.

I don't think it is laughable, as the gap between the two is 77 points in contrast to the near 100 point gap between OSU and Boise last week in the Coaches poll.
Plus, the first Harris poll comes out Sunday.

Now, all that said, I still think as long as OSU wins out and plays well down the stretch in November, they are title game bound.

Actually, the gap is about the same. 1449 for Bama, 1377 for OSU and 1300 for Oregon.

I think if both Oregon and OSU win out, the only thing that keeps OSU above them is the victory last year in the bowl game. Oregon's schedule is tougher and they usually have more impressive wins (score wise), so I wouldn't think it would be out of the question for OSU to get jumped.

OSU needs to up its running game to even consider winning out from here. But in the event they do, no way Ducks overtake them. Good to see Boise bumped to more where they belong.

Still OSU is closer to 'Bama than Oregon is to OSU, which was my point.

How is Oregon's schedule tougher? Right now they have exactly 1 ranked team left on their schedule. Both Stanford and Arizona games are at home which are their toughest games of the year. Their toughest OOC game was Tenneessee who probably won't finish above .500. Real tough schedule when no OOC team will finish better than .500 and your toughest games of the year are at home.

The Pac 10 was exposed as being weak in the bowl season last year after having these explosive offenses. So now once again everyone is drooling over high powered offenses who don't play defense.

The Pac-10 is really starting to get overrated by everyone because they had a nice win or two. Oregon, Arizona, and Stanford are good teams, Arizona might be the best because they actually play some defense. Arizona State and Oregon State are almost decent, but not even top 25 quality. USC, UCLA, and Cal are average at best, and Washington and Washington State are just bad.

A schedule consisting of Miami (FL), Wisconsin, Penn State, Iowa, and Michigan >>> Tennessee, Stanford, Arizona, Arizona State, and Oregon State.

For some reason I thought that the Pac 10 was better than what it was, but I agree with most of your post. However I would disagree on Oregon State. I think they are a good team, but lost to two top teams.
