Arizona didn't dominate anything. The numbers were almost even, both teams made mistakes that cost them, and Arizona won by a TD on their home field. Arizona is a top 10 team, and so is Iowa.

They dominated the first half, I'll give you that. I even explained how they did so.

Did you watch the second half? The score was 34-27. I watched the whole game. If you didn't, you can admit such.

Yeah, I saw the whole game. Iowa did come back yes, but Arizona held their ground and still won. It is my view, and from watching other Arizona this year, they are a top 10 team. I would still put them ahead of Iowa, easily.

Now, they will have a test, as they play Oregon St. but they area good team and one of the surprising teams out there. There is also some great, great football teams out west. The Pac-10 is loaded this year and Utah and Nevada are really playing well too. Not to mention Boise of course.

Maybe a very slight advantage to Arizona but definitely NOT domination.

Fair enough, but given the fact that Iowa was ranked in the top 10 and expected to win, should count. Also, Iowa is the Big Ten's 2nd best team, while Arizona may be the Pac-10s third best team. (Oregon and Stanford maybe better by the end of the year)

The point is, Arizona straight up beat Iowa and questioning their spot in the top 10 is crazy to me. Right now, Arizona is playing some good ball.

I think Arizona is better than Stanford. They play much better defense. Oregon is the only team in the Pac-10 who looks better right now.

Who have they beaten? An overrated Arkansas? An overrated Florida? They haven't really done anything to impress me, or to get the title "far and away the best team in the country". If they somehow go undefeated and end up playing Ohio State in the title game, I won't be worried, I'd love to get a crack at them.

There is a warped perception that if you have a high octane offense you are a good team, but I have to agree with you, it doesn't really make a lot of sense. However, are you really surprised Oregon jumped Boise? As cute as everyone thinks Boise is, they are not going to play in the title game, so it was going to happen eventually.

Oregon got things figured out defensively yesterday, but I til kind of have a frame of mind that they struggle with someone who can pound the ball at you... they strugled when Stanford was running early and often in the 1st half and when OSU decided to run downhill at them in the Rose Bowl we were pretty good

Arizona has one of the best defenses in the country. Iowa going down on those 3 big plays early pretty much spelled disaster for them.

I just have flashbacks of their 34-0 bowl game loss against Nebraska where they only had around 20 yards of offense. Their offense was clueless against a good defense. I know it was last year but it's essentially the same team. Maybe something has clicked for them, or maybe Iowa isn't nearly as good as everyone thought?

For example Cal isn't a good team and lost by 1 AT Arizona last week. I think Arizona will get blown up a few times this year.

Haha, no.

If Bama and OSU are undefeated at the end of the season those two will be in the NCG.

It's been Bama #1 and OSU #2 since before the season even started.

Depends on how the season plays out, it is possible for Oregon with the computers to leap Ohio St. Ohio St does not play Michigan St this year who just beat Wisconsin taking their value down. Arizona beat Iowa if Arizona stays undefeated they are more valuable than Iowa. It all depends on how things play out.

What I don't get is Boise has put their evil inside Oregon two years in a row, and all they do early this season is win...and they still get jumped by Oregon. That's BS. And if Oregon jumps OSU (won't happen), how would that make sense? They played this calendar year, and OSU won.

If OSU win's out they will be in the National Championship game.

That win against Miami will be their saving grace. Miami will end up being a top 10 team and should win the ACC (although this doesn't mean that much). But Ohio State for the most part dominated Miami and made them look pretty bad so everyone wrote off Miami. Maybe it was just how good Ohio State actually is.

But as pointed out... everyone would much rather praise a good offense than good defense so people tend to downplay defensive teams in the rankings.

AP poll has no bearing on the National Title Game though. Oregon would have to jump OSU in the coaches poll to get in.

No, it doesn't matter how the season plays out.

If OSU and Bama go undefeated, they will play each other in the NCG. There is absolutely no debate and its laughable to suggest so.

The polls have had these two teams as 1/2 since the beginning, I don't think they are going to change their mind because once again another Pac 10 team puts a lot of points up without a defense. Bama and OSU will bring in the ratings, the fans, the most money, the most history etc.

The Coaches poll really isn't that close. OSU is closer to Alabama than Oregon is to OSU. If 'Bama & OSU both go undefeated, they are in the NCG, no question.
