Musburger is such an idiot. With 2 mins remaining he was talking as if VT already won the game.

Wow....some of you Ohio State fans really don't want to have to play Boise?? Why is that??

Tiger...looking at their schedules(including their OOC) if both go undefeated...do you honestly think OSY should go before Boise?

Well, I didn't say that, but I'd imagine because their schedule blows.

If they did...and then played a WAC schedule...would they deserve a title shot? The argument doesn't change - nobody ever said they couldn't win one decent game. The point is, that is the only one they have to win.

Hell yes Ohio State should go before Boise State if they are both undefeated....

This is the problem with preseason rankings. They are ranked #3, so if Ohio State or Alabama lose a game, this pretty much dictates that they should move up and play for the championship. The only way a Texas or Oklahoma or Florida jumps them is if they beat a top 10 team by 50 points or if Boise only beats Wyoming or Fresno by a point. Otherwise you really can't argue that an undefeated Florida should magically jump over an undefeated Boise State in the final week just because of strength of schedule.

Point being? They've beaten Oklahoma, Oregon (twice), Oregon State (twice), TCU, and now Virginia Tech in the last 5 years. They're obviously one of the top few teams in the country with what they did last year and what they brought back. I think they've built enough resume wins and a strong enough program over the last several seasons to garner some respect.

Saying other undefeated teams get in above them is fine. But saying they don't deserve to play for the championship is just asinine.

Who's OSY??

Yes osu should go over them if it came to that. Osu would have beaten Miami wisky and Iowa and Penn state. It's not really much of a debate.

I disagree. OSU runs the table and they are in regardless of which team won this game.

Boise needs to pray that there are only 2 teams undefeated at the end of the regular season and that they are one of them. A win over Virginia Tech is still not enough.

Probably just once....if they played a BCS schedule instead of ONE BCS team (oh, okay...two this year).

Do I think Boise State could beat or play with anyone in the Country on any day? Yah probably so...But could they do it week in and week out. probably not but that is a whole different argument.

Correct.

Although what if Ohio State is undefeated and the SEC champ has one loss and Boise is undefeated. It still would be controversy to put Boise in over the SEC champ.

So we are now taking the best five wins over a five year period and building a resume for this year? Geez, give me a minute and I'll find you 30 teams that have a legit claim to a national title appearance.

Yes, an undefeated OSU should go before Boise, as should an undefeated Alabama, because they are both ranked higher. If one of these two teams losses, then Boise should go. Its all about the rankings.

Their schedule blows, but the thing they have going for them they haven't in recent years is the human polls are going to have them high enough that this year they will get in the title game over a 1 loss bsc conference team.

They were always stuck around 5-6 in the polls, but they will sit in the top 3 for most of the this year and unless there are 2 undefeated teams from the power conferences I think this is the year they get their shot to play for a title.

That's why BYU went independent. Boise State might want to do the same thing.
