I do want LBJ to return to Cleveland but NOT under another 3 year deal.
If by some miracle he does come back to Cleveland, there is zero doubt in my mind he will have a straight 3 year deal, or a 6 year max deal with an opt-out after the 3rd year because if he hasn't won a title by that point, it will have been 10 years and he will get the hell out of here to sign his last big max deal at age 28.
Although if we think it is bad now, Lebron coming back on another 3 year deal in Cleveland will create a level of constant paranoia the likes of which we haven't seen if there is no title in these next 2 years as everyone will know that the last year will really be the shit or get off the pot year, so Chris Grant had better stock up on Depends because the pressure will be crazy intense to make a title happen knowing Lebron will otherwise be gone that next season.
On Lebron's end it makes sense to do short deals because it keeps you from ending up trapped somewhere like KG was in Minnesota for the prime of his career but really never a legit contender to win a title. For the organization though it just creates chaos as you spend you nights sleepless knowing Lebron has a walk year in the not too distant future and you don't have the luxury of time to build anything since you need an immediate payoff or he's gone.
