The fact the team got two MiLB players for a journeyman like Branyan is good. The fact a crappy team gave up two MiLB players for an old guy who won't be in their future is crazy. Then again, this is the Seattle team who gave Pittsburgh a former hot prospect who (still) hasn't panned out, a serviceable middle infielder and three pitching prospects (two of which are viable)...for a past-his-prime defensive shortstop and a worthless pitcher who's already been DFA'd.

I can't figure Seattle's angle on this at all....unless they think they can 'flip' him in the next month and get more than they gave up.
I don't think Branyan fit into any of the Tribe's plans, and with LaPorta hitting the snot out of the ball in Columbus it was time to bring him back up and give him extended time at 1st base. Whether we could have got more for him we'll never know, but I have to figure that if Branyan made more errors, his value would sink further. LOL

They seem to have a love for trading for guys who are hurt. Anybody know how the Single A pitcher(with a bad shoulder) they got in the Lee steal is doing?
