I was over at a buddies house tonight and I think his mom made a good point. Though I don't agree with Lee winning, she said that he is sort of the epitome of what Idol is supposed to be. Just a regular guy that went through this system to get a shot. Crystal was sort of already on her way. That may have been enough to put him over the top because it's not like he isn't pretty talented too. But Crystal was definitely THE talent between the two. That duet with Alanis was awesome.

No, I could really care less if she's from Ohio. I honestly think she's the best I've heard on there. It's personal taste anyways, it's not like you have some incredible argument against me lol.

I could care less that she's from Ohio . . . I'm from Chicago, so I guess I should have rooted for Lee, at least by your logic.

And as for the prior contestants you named that are better than Crystal, sure it's a matter of taste, but I personally disagree with you on every one of them, . . . . David Archuleta and David Cook, seriously?

Crystal's Bobby McGee and Up to the Mountain were two of the best performances I've ever seen on the show.

Keep in mind, I like Lee a lot, seemed like a good dude . . . . just not a worthy winner.

So "album sales" is synonymous with "who's better" . . . . haha, OK then. I'd forgotten what a talent Vanilla Ice was, the greatness of Milli Vanilli (grammy winners), and the musical prowess of Creed . . . . all of whom sold a ton of albums.

CLEARLY, my bad.

And, by the way, I don't get Carrie Underwood at all . . . sure, she's nice to look at, but I don't like any of her music and certainly wouldn't go out of my way to listen to it.

LOL, that doesn't mean she choked. She in fact did the opposite, she was amazing. But your logic is all over the place. You're talking about popularity, awards won and albums sold--yet talking about her not winning so she choked. So do you think Taylor Hicks>Chris Daughtry. Because that doesn't fit with half of your "logic".

I agree with most of your post except the part that Crystal was sort of on her way. AS far as I know, which isn't a whole lot, she was singing in bars and clubs around Toledo. I know she sang with a band at my Dad's bar a while back.

Crystal is a true musician. Plays her own instrument and writes her own songs. But the key element to her musical prowess is her passion and soul. Her vocals, which are terrific, may not be as "strong" as some past winners or contestants, but she has that soulfulness that many of today's singers lack.

Give me Crystal Bowersox over any of the former American Idol contestants.

gibby is probably sitting behind his computer bumping his iTunes library that consists of corporate created robot musicians. He wouldn't know good music if it were implanted in his ears.

And that's what I meant about being kind of on her way...apparently she had a pretty solid local following, had been performing for years and I heard she even went on some sort of a tour at one point? Idk, that could be BS. Either way, it doesn't matter she's definitely on her way now. They're both winners, really.

LOL, actually I'll be at Soldier Field for the Eagles on June 25th. But before they go on, I'll be at Soldier Field booing the Dixie Chicks.

No, Crystal would have been the next Taylor Hicks. Her style is outdated and not marketable in today's music industry.

Lee has a very commercial voice. He will be putting out records for a while, in some form of a pop-rock band.

While I think Crystal had the better night on Tuesday....I still think America got it right. Lee is the most modern and most deserving to win. If they had American Idol in 1972...Crystal would have deserved to win.

Crystal Bowersox is a singer,songwriter,musician and stage presence...Lee is an excellent singer who was the benefactor of Casey's votes,which he pulled from the female age 15-25 demographic.

Crystal wanted to win--Lee needed to win.

Here is one thing I think is funny... (I was rooting for Crystal).

Everyone is saying "Crystal got hosed, screwed, jipped, the shaft, I wanna screw her." How did she get hosed? AMERICA votes. She didn't have as many fans as Lee. That's it. Just didn't have as many fans. You could put a naked chick up there that sings like Elmer Fudd on a blender, and she may win. Why? Fan base. That's it. That's all this show is about. Fan base.

THIS. SHOW. IS. NOT. A. SINGING. COMPETITION.

I honestly don't understand what people DON'T get about that. It's not about who sings the best... it's about who has the most fans.

1. Crystal > Lee. However, as ETB indicates, this show is about fanbase. How else do you think Big Mike and Shioban got as far as they did?
2. Loved Crystal's singing You Outta Know with Alanis. Crystal held her own vocally with Alanis, which is saying a lot. I always get a chuckle when I hear that song because she apparently wrote it after Dave Coullier (Uncle Joey from Full House) treated her like shit and dumped her. Listen to the lyrics.. it's quite disturbing when you picture Uncle Joey on the receiving end of a hummer in the movie theater.
3. Joe Cocker... was it just me or does he look like Red Foxx last night? Hell, he even was dressed like him. Lee and Crystal's duet was the bomb.
4. Am I the only one who believes Simon has boned Paula on more than one occasion?
5. John Oates/Nicholas Turturro-- separated at birth? You be the judge.
6. Janet Jackson... don't like the short hair, but I was still hoping for a wardrobe malfunction.
7. Alice Cooper is way past his prime.
8. I like Lee, he is just not better than Crystal. I do agree he is more marketable and I see him playing well on WNCI and similar stations. His performance with Chicago was just flat out boring.
9. Simon should have ended the show by saying they have decided to end the show after this season. 10 seasons is long enough and without him, the show will die a quick death after next season.
