zwick if you can tell me how having less crime than cleveland or cincy based on fbi data is a bad thing, id be glad to hear it

If you're worried about crime then don't live in a big city period.. Columbus included. Go find a small farm town.

Krazie- Did you want me to address the Columbus Crew and Blue Jackets? What exactly do you want me to say about them? I'm sure it's great time if you're into soccer and hockey.

It's not all relative b/c you don't have near the crime downtown where you are actually at. No one goes to East Cleveland for anything. That's where the crime is. I've spent countless nights in the warehouse district and have never felt unsafe. Cleveland is very unsafe.. if your walking down St. Clair and East 93rd... not if you're on West 4th and St. Clair.

I think you guys are missing the fact that Cleveland might be a great place to live for someone with ZWP's lifestyle and interests, but not for me and some others here. To put it bluntly, Columbus is a white-bread yuppie town while Cleveland is more for the hip-hoppers and the gangstas.

My wife and I are from Northeast Ohio. We lived in Columbus for ten years and moved up to Cleveland at the end of last year . . . we are moving back to Columbus in a few weeks and literally cant't wait to get out of Cleveland. I'm a Cleveland sports fan, am from that area, etc . . . . but Columbus is worlds better than Cleveland. Cleveland people seem far more miserable, less educated and more socially awkward than the Columbus folks. I hate to admit that, but I can.

Cbus is by far the best city in the state.

You've been away from Northeast Ohio too long, SVF. My wife and I had dinner in Cleveland's Little Italy just two weeks ago and there wasn't a hip-hopper to be found....LOL

Being from the central Ohio area, I am admittedly biased, but I have to say that Columbus is definitely better than Cleveland and Cincinnati. Obviously, the pro sports are inferior, but just about everything else is superior. Business, crime, housing, education, shopping, diversity...all seem to be better than in Cincinnati and Cleveland. The only thing that I despise about Columbus is the local government, but it may be better than Cincy or Cleveland, too. I'm not too familiar with Cleveland and Cincy's politics.

I'm saying they're a great time no matter what you're a fan of. The point is that Columbus HAS quality pro sports. They are never going to get an NFL or NBA team because of Ohio State, and they have a AAA team that's probably better than their big league club. Look, I love Cleveland sports as much as the next guy but I also enjoy other things to do and the 2 hour drive isn't as much of a downer as giving up living in Columbus.

hr, where did you eat at in little italy? Haven't been up there in a few years but I always loved going to Mama Santa's for some great food....also please tell the wife I said hello :)

I can say without a doubt it's better than in Cuyahoga County

I can say without a doubt it's better than in Cuyahoga County
hahahahaha. cuyahoga county's government is a gigantic cluster fuck. so much so that the residents of the county voted this past november to throw out their current form of government including all elected officials for a new form... also, it is widely speculated that one of their county comissioners and their county auditor are being investigated by the fbi for all sorts of fun corruption charges.

I like where I live, and I don't really care where others think is the best. My problem is when someone talks shit about how horrible the area they live in is, yet they don't have enough balls to up and move to make their life better in their eyes.

It's all personal opinion. I like NEO. I hate SWO. I lived briefly in Sunbury and Central Ohio isn't my thing either.

Sunbury isn't a good example of central ohio. That town, excuse me, village, is so fucking cut off from the rest of central ohio up until recently it's embarrassing.

it is all personal opinion, but bomar is giving reasons behind his opinion... growing population, several company headquarters, lower crime rates, rivers that don't get set on fire, lack of a rust belt (NEO would include youngstown..)

Which is exactly what you're doing. Columbus has a lot of shitty areas. Cleveland has a lot of shitty areas. Cincy has a lot of shitty areas.. you're trying to make Columbus out to be this amazing place that is so safe and clean. It isn't. You can throw a rock from campus and end up in shitty areas.. you refuse to acknowledge it though.
