Hey, no problem guys. I just find myself unable to stop thinking about the finale, it had a profound impact on me without a doubt. I see the show as this:
This is a normal prime time TV show, and they went on a very deep metaphysical level with this finale. I am in no way religious, but the idea that the relationships we hold will allow us to move on to the next stage of life is very, very powerful.
I wasn't in love with it at first. I wanted the answers to little mysteries like the hurley bird, but I literally cannot stop thinking about the finale. After reading the bad robot recap (which is great), I can buy that they came down on the side of faith on the show, and showed that the science was not the answer.
The writers have crafted a show that makes us think about the very way we live our lives. Don't take the people you know for granted (michael, ben). You always have a chance to change your ways; to start with a blank slate (Tabula Rasa). People have the ability and capacity for unbelievable good, even when their pasts are murky (looks like Jacob was right!).
The finale has grown on me immensely, and I now look at my family and friends in a much closer way. We all have free will people, go out there and use it for some good.
