I am not arguing with what you are saying, other than the money. I think Gilbert has the higher salary that he can offer to counteract the big city endorsement deals that NY or CHi can offer.

So, if the Cavs can pay $10 million more per year than anyone else, that's news to me.
No, but it is a well known fact that the Cavs can offer the highest salary per year...
So is it $30 million more than anyone else, like you said, over 3 years?
No idea....KNR is reporting 30 mil. I think it is some sort of percentage over each year.

Completely disagree with this. You run a business, you can't let spite get in the way of a business decision. If that is how it plays out, you do it. Because you could get some pieces back, instead of nothing.

There is absolutely no way, that if this situation presents itself, the Cavs don't do it.

I know his opinion is held in high regards on here, but let's not pretend that Lebron doesn't have Windhorst in his back pocket. He will report whatever Lebron wants him to report, especially in hopes that he returns.

I think the Delonte rumors are right too and if the whole team KNEW about it but didn't say anything, I don't blame him for that, either, if he bolts.

I made a comment about this on another thread and someone said "if you knew this you would have kept it a secret too."

Call me a fucking snitch but we're talking about Lebron Friggin James here, people. He's already apparently "sensitive" when his feelings get hurt and you KNEW he'd have a reaction like this. Knowing the BIGGEST superstar in the NBA's mom is getting hosed by a teammate? You gotta do damage control, ASAP, cut the snakes head off (ditch Delonte) and try to heal the wounds BEFORE the playoffs.

I don't know either, but I thought it was $30 million over 7 years, and the Cavs can offer a 7th year when everyone else can offer 6? So, if that's true, it's around $4 million per year, which in Lebron's case, isn't a deal breaker, when he's probably making up over $50 million per year.

I dont know. Windhorst usually tells it like it is regardless. I know Delonte has some issues but I would hope that he could do better than that cocain whore

LBJ doesn't have Windhorst in his back pocket. Unlike Kenny Scrotum on WKNR, Windy isn't a blind homer. He tells it like it is and is pretty critical of the Cavs AND Lebron.

Gotta do it. The trade partner KNOWS they have got you by the balls and ends up giving you Darius Miles and Mark Madsen in return. You don't allow him to have a MAX contract after ALL that Cleveland has done for him (two way street). Ferry is also a soft pussy so he might say "yes" but I think Gilbert would chop off Ferry's head, put it on a stake and strategically place it in front of the Q before he signed and traded Lebron.

The endorsement argument is long dead. LeBron can make just as much endorsement money in Cleveland that he can in any other city. We liv in the year 2010 not 1950.

I think it's pretty simple...the only team that would make basketball sense for him to go to is Chicago. Why walk past Jordan's statue every time you go to play when you could have your own statue in Cleveland?

I heard Jalen Rose this morning on KNR....he was discussing with someone(Rizzo maybe?) about do the Cavs even offer a sign and trade if all else fails. He was of the opinion that you don't offer it, because you would get virtually nothing.

If you let him walk...you free up cap space, but your franchise loses its fan base all together because you get zero players in return.

You lose the frontrunners who couldn't spell "C-a-v-s" before Lebron.

The team, as composed, is probably still a very low playoff seed. Dump Jamison's contract and you can somewhat reload the following year.

Would it be nice to still have Lebron? Sure, but they could bounce back to being a playoff team in pretty short order.

Ok, let's say they do a sign and trade with say Dallas. Who the hell is dallas going to trade to the Cavs that would excite the fanbase? At least if you have the cap space you can go get players. I'm sorry but LeBron for Beaubois, Dampier, and a couple draft picks doesn't mean shit. I'd rather him walk and free the cap space to get decent players. A sign and trade just makes the Cavs look desperate

Not sure if it is true, but I read somewhere that even if he walks, the Cavs only have 6 mil to play with because of where the cap will be.

MAYBE an 8 seed and an early exit. And that's a HUGE MAYBE. You have absolutely nothing in place that gives you any promise for the future if Lebron leaves, and I think Lebron knows that.

The only promising young player the Cavs have is Hickson, who I think the Cavs fans have highly overrated.

The cap is projected at $56 million. If he walks they will be at $48 million. Five players, Mo, Jamison, Delonte, Gibson ($ million you STUPID MOTHER FUCKER) and someone else make up at least $40 million of that.

who knows what they have in Hickson....Lebron has made him look pretty decent.

I have no doubt that if Lebron leaves, this will set the franchise back 10 years. Lets face it, an eight seed in the East is a scrub team.

I am getting so sick of this Lebron stuff....it has completely overshadowed the NBA playoffs now...and not just in Ohio.
The fact that there hasn't been a competitive series since the first round isn't helping the NBA's cause with their playoffs. 4 day layoffs between predictable ass kickings makes it pretty easy to overshadow.

Very true. Boston and the Lakers are killing Random Victim #1 and #2 and the obscene lay-off between games pretty much means LeBron is the ONLY thing worth "water cooler chatting" in the NBA. I mean, WTF? I know there's a game tomorrow, but was the last one Tuesday? It's absolutely stupid to stretch things out this much.

I heard Jim Brown's comments on the way home on WKNR.

A) WTF was he doing celebrating at a ceremony for Ray "Killa" Lewis in Crackmore

AND

B) His comments were WAY off base....saying the "fanbase has too high of expectations for Lebron?" Hello....who has been telling us "we're gonna bring Cleveland a championship" AND "win a ring for the King?"

Total bullshit on Brown's part.

I didn't read anyone else's post on this thread, partly because I don't care and partly because, well, I don't care. But IMO, Jim Brown is 100% correct. He's being treated like dog shit and Cleveland fans don't deserve him.

I've heard so many of them say things like "whatever, let him leave", "team first, I don't root for one player", etc., etc.

First of all, all it is is Cleveland fans setting themselves up for him leaving because they think it's going to happen anyways. And secondly, he is the team, dipshits.

DA was right, Cleveland doesn't deserve a winner because they trash their own guys when they lose. I always find it interesting that when I see the Steelers lose a game, I hear their fan base stand up for their team and rally around them. When a Cleveland team loses, it's like the world is ending and everyone on the team is a scum bag.
