This is THE thing for me about bunting. And then, figure in taking it to extras and using your bullpen, like Laley also said. Runner on second and no outs with Naquin up......I’m taking my chances of him moving the runner without bunting. And poor, Reyes......left with runner on third, 2 outs. It was a smh game.

I thought he put a good swing on that final pitch....I gotta give credit to the pitcher. 1 inch lower and I believe Reyes was the hero

shoulda, woulda, coulda--we all know it's a game of inches, and that's what separates the good from the great. I'm not saying it's easy, cause if it were, everybody would be doing it--all I'm saying is maybe he's putting too much pressure on himself to be "that guy", and when he starts to relax and do what he does, he may just be.

fuck ragging on the decision to bunt--how about our "potent offense" hit the fucking ball during the game and take the decision out of the manager's hands come crunch time...what an excellent outing by Civale wasted because of our anemic offense that was on display last night

I agree they need to score a damn run. Doesn’t make the decision to bunt a good one. You seem to be one of the few who is ok with it...but I’ll ask, how many times under Tito have we bunted to the benefit of the team? It’s worked out like 1-2 times a season and backfired that many tenfold...if not more. 

The times we get lucky with that decision is when we get a single and a HR to follow and still score 3 runs. Where the bunt didn’t do shit to help, but it at least didn’t kill the in ing

This is why I'm a proponent of it, but as I said, only in certain cases (ie down by a run or tied in the top/bottom of 9th). I'm reading your posts as saying that a sac bunt is never a good idea, and if I'm interpreting that wrong, I apologize. I steadfastly maintain that there is a time and place for it, especially when you're at the bottom of the lineup.

Brad Hand with a dominate 9th to strike out the side. Goody pitched 2 scoreless, and Plesac went 6 scoreless. Solid outing and didn't have to use a ton of the pen. 

Nice win. 

Now let’s get those bats going and win game 2.

He’s a fielding liability with a weaker arm then Naquin, which is why I think he should be in left instead of RF
