posted by BRFMy next and basically last guess is Jim Rice. But now you make me think it can’t be him, since I’m sure you’ve heard of Rice.I remembered those guys as fast and powerful. That’s why I took a shot on Aaron. I had no more guesses after looking at Laley’s tries so I looked it up. Never heard of the guy.

Jim Rice in 1978….and only missed by 1 triple of doing it in 1977 as well

Interesting……when I Googled, I found the name Jim Bottomley as the third one.
And then I found another link that said this:
Harry Lumley (once in the same year)
Jim Bottomley (once in the same year)
Tommy Leach (once in the same year)
Willie Mays (once in the same year)
Mickey Mantle (once in the same year)Jim Rice (once in the same year)
Also, I’m seeing that Mays and Mantle feat was in 1955.

Ironman doesn’t Google I don’t think, just off the top of his head. My guess is those other 3 are accurate, but who the fuck would think to look them up to confirm for this!? Haha.
Good research though.

Crazy, after you posted I googled and got 5 of those 6. Article didn’t mention Tommy Leach!

You did really good. Thanks for letting me get the two most obvious ones!

You beat me to Mays by about 1 minute! Mick would’ve been a later guess for me. Didn’t think he had the triples!

Ok….my questions won’t go back 2 centuries and Harry Lumley will never be an answer

Mick could fly when he came up…he was Trout

So happy you said that! My dad whenever we talk about Trout compares him to Mick. He is a Yankees fan, and got to see/listen to the end of Mantles career.

His pre age 30’s numbers are silly

Seems like Barry would be the obvious choice. So probably isn’t him.

I looked it up, so I won't answer. I was close with Schmidt.

I’m going back to my boys. Lajoie, Cobb, Hornsby
Cobb I HIGHLY doubt with Babe overlapping. The other two maybe.

Hey, I did look up those 3 after I guessed. Lajoie is incorrect -- but ONLY because he did it (13) year apart!!!
