It appears the bubble is popping pretty hard. Lots of breweries and tap rooms closing down. Curious if any of your favorite places around Ohio have closed recently?

several have closed around the downtown area I cant remember names off top of my head, pretentious brewery i think is one, but also others keep opening or changing concepts.  I don't know of any that have flat out stop selling their beer, I'm talking about the bar/taproom spaces.

I’ve noticed two things.

1) Almost all the good ones are still doing okay or surviving

2) The few good ones who are failing are the ones who sold during the boom

My favorite breweries are Warped Wing, Sonder, and Rhinegeist. As far as I know they’re all doing fine.

This is an interesting conversation though. Five years ago I was big into buying and trying new IPAs. Now, I just go with what I know and makes economic sense.

I follow a couple of the local beer stores who post their new beer drops a few times a week. Sometimes, the drops are nothing but IPA, double IPA, hazy IPA, double dry hopped double IPA, triple IPA, New Zealand IPA, etc. Which is fine, those are what sell I guess. But I’ve kind of moved past it. Not going to spend $15 on a 4-pack I’ll probably like when I can just get the Sam Adams 28 can variety pack at Costco for $24.

I’m also drinking less in general. I just had a four day weekend off work and drank < 5 beers during it.
