Dan Lefevour can be had in the 4th or 5th round and that is where I would invest one of my picks in that position. I like Sean Canfield but I think he is going to go early 2nd rnd and I would not want to take a QB that early with the defensive talent out there like Da Browns has been saying.
Only problem with Canfield is that he's a lefty. It'd basically make Joe Thomas worthless because he's not a mauler, and God forbid we let St. Clair protect the blind side.

I want to see the combine before taking McClain over Berry. After watching them this season McClain is not that much better than other LB's as far as value goes. Berry though is a top 3 talent IMO.

Well, my girlfriend being a HUGE Bama fan, has made me watch even more Bama games, and I've watched all but 2 this year, and all but 3 last season. He's the real deal. I think you'll be impressed by his combine numbers, and you'll see him separate himself from the rest of the talent at LB.

He's a stud, and I believe he's on the same level as Berry.
I am skeptical that he will separate himself from Spikes, Norwood, Weatherspoon. Berry is kind of in his own little world at safety. Taylor Mays but then it is a large drop off.

Do you really think McClain is that much better than Weatherspoon Spikes Norwood etc?

I think Norwood and McClain are pretty close and I like value in a draft as well as to meet needs. Well it should be interesting come combine time.

Well if he's throwing the damn ball 30+ times a game and isn't coming out for an injury, I'm gonna conclude he wasn't injured!

Seems like a cop out to me...oh I struggled in the 2nd half, but yeah it's cuase I was injured, yeah that's it! I mean I still threw the ball 35 times a game, but damn my bicep killed!

I doubt Canfield goes before round 3. Lefevour might end up being picked before him.

Lefevour is a "system" QB if ever there was one. I don't see him going early without someone reaching really bad. Canfield is intriguing, but not before the 4th round.

Otherwise, I don't see a QB in this draft worth risking a high draft choice on. I simply don't think emu boy or Bradford have "it" and would be too big a risk when there are too many good to great defensive players to be had at the top of this draft.

I hope the Browns sign a veteran QB in free agency and keep Quinn. If they can find a project Holmgren wants to try and groom in a later round, then fine. Otherwise, try to build the rest of the team now and hope you can use defense/running game to manage a game and get some wins.

Holmgren is a pretty good judge of QBs and has had success in this area. I would guess he'll find a way to get a QB he likes if he decides it isn't Quinn (likely).

McClain is top 10-top 5 talent.

Spikes has the talent to be a 15-20 guy, but I think he slides to the bottom of the first, top of the 2nd.

Norwood would be an OLB for us.

Also don't forget that McClain is the SILB for a 34 defense already that features a dominant NT. He rakes in tackles and gets pressure on the QB, while also does very well in coverage.

He's the best all around LB in this draft. Think Patrick Willis.

It seems the majority of fans on this site agree the Browns need to draft Defense first. Think the Browns will actually do this?

I still think we are going to trade down in this year's draft again simply because there are so many holes and one player isn't going to make that big of an impact. This is a very deep draft, and good talent can be had in the later rounds so might as well stock pile as many picks as possible and hope some of them pan out.

I'm 90% sure we'll go defense in the first and 70% sure we'll go defense in the 2nd, depending on who's there.

It's going to take a long time for these young guys to learn the WCO, so I wouldn't be surprised if we went and shored up the defense in this loaded defensive draft and established a defense that can keep us in the games.

Suh won't be available when Cleveland makes their pick. Take Berry or trade down. I don't think McClain is worth top 5 $$$.

Although, in the 2nd, I wouldn't be surprised if we go for Golden Tate or Brandon Lafell. For the WCO we need physical receivers who can make catches in traffic. We can't rely on Mo Mass to go for the ball in one on one coverage, let alone over the middle.

Spiller should not be mentioned with Cleveland and their Top 5 pick. Sorry, he isn't worth that to us right now.

IF, IF Cleveland could package picks/cash etc to get into the 1st round a 2nd time and he is available then I might take him but I still would be thinking defense.

You really are as stupid as I think you are, aren't you?

This offense is basically crap. Joe Thomas is legit and I think Mack will eventually get there. Jerome Harrison is a huge wild card, you can't depend on Quinn, Cribbs doesn't have a role yet, and Mo Mass will never be anything besides a #3. If they go with an offensive skill player, that player will struggle mightily to make an impact simply because there are just not enough capable other players on the offense. It's like a Tim Couch situation. Couch was actually pretty decent QB but was set up for failure because Cleveland had hardly any help for him. And anyways, unless the Browns plan on trading down (yeah, good luck with that), there aren't any offense players worthy of being drafted in the spot where the Browns will be picking from. This is, top to bottom, one of the best defensive drafts in a very long time. With all the draft picks the Browns have accumulated for this draft, they need to take advantage of this. The only 2 skill position players that can help the Browns would be Dez Bryant or CJ Spiller....and both would be huge reaches.

I pray that Holmgren looks at what his former team did last year in the draft by taking both Raji and Matthews.

And in case you haven't noticed, the FA class is weak this year. Unless the Browns have a clever plan to reel in Miles Austin or Vincent Jackson, I really don't see anyone who will help out a whole lot. Injuries, character issues, and underachievement headline this year's FA class.
